Title: Favourite Disney Film?
Scotsguy - March 26, 2008 10:55 AM (GMT)
I was just reading an article on the life of Walt Disney and I started wondering what everyone's favourite disney film was. By far the greatest producer of children's films for the past 70 odd years everyone has seen at least a few of the disney classics-either as children or with their own children. I figure that the ones you remember most dearly are the ones from your childhood. Anyway here's a song or two from each film....

The Lion King is still amazing after 15 years can you believe :o I remember when my mum bought it for my 4th birthday. I was well chuffed :D
It has such a moral tale and it's loosely based on Hamlet which is my fav Shakespeare play too :)
The Pocahontas soundtrack was great too. A more older-kid film i thought, as it had significant themes of racissm etc.

The Lion King is my favourite disney film by a mile. Apparently I watched it every day for about 4 months when I was 6 or 7....
It is a great story and the music is amazing
The 2nd one was a let down though, it was based on Romeo and Juliet.

The second one was ok, but i feel the storyline was too preductable and the depth-in character wasnt as good as the first one
Toy Story is my second best Disney film :D

Jungle book is by far the best for me. I think it was Disney's favourite as well. Obviously he did not live to watch the Lion king.

I liked the Hunchback of notre Damme too :)
I feel it had the best villain in Frollo on that film.

If we're talking villains its gotta be Cruella de Ville-hilarious character...I find Scar was very funny......
Of course the most terrifying villian in all disney films is the unnamed one-The hunter that kills Bambi's mother.....he's the reason for hundreds of 4 year olds being dragged out of the cinema in tears....

I love the music in the jungle book but the drawing is really fantastic. Original for the time and the moves are stunningly real (mowgli walking about really looked human) and all that without computer help.

My dad still cries at that scene, whereas i'm just totally impassive
Scar was a great villain. He kiiled his own brother so you cant get any more sadistic than that.
Tenez - March 26, 2008 11:42 AM (GMT)
Actually, there is a Scar in all of us as we are Caen's sons. ;)
SaraLess - March 26, 2008 11:48 AM (GMT)
The Jungle Book, Mary Poppins and Snow White from that list.
Robin Hood was another favourite - utterly brilliant.
I also liked Sleeping Beauty - primarily for the use of Strauss in the song 'Some Day my Prince Will Come'...oh, and Alice in Wonderland...I loved the flowers song.
Wow, I feel about 4 again.
Though, the film of choice when I was 4/5 was 'The Sound of Music' - I watched it whenever possible.

The Black Cauldron is the best Disney movie for me. :ok:

Just to add to this I cannot edit it to let you vote three times... :(
Lex - March 26, 2008 01:42 PM (GMT)
it was a tought choice between Jungle Book, Fantasia, Peter Pan and The Aristocats but The Cats won it :)
Trouble is, upto the mid 70's all the Disney films were excellent, nowadays they seem a little too samey

Harry Potter - March 26, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
Toy Story without a shadow of doubt! I re-watched the sequel the other day on the Beeb, amazing stuff.
Most of the Disney films are grand, really.
Buttercup - March 26, 2008 04:05 PM (GMT)
