Title: Who Would Win in a Fight- a horse sized duck,
Description: or 100 duck sized horses?
Ace - March 10, 2008 05:52 AM (GMT)
Although the horse-sized duck would have the height and power advantage,if the 100 duck-sized horses were well organised and used shrewd strategy to distract and confuse their opponent they could deliver fearful hoof powered kicks to the giant duck's soft underbelly. Herein lies the horse sized duck's weakness.
or
The horse sized duck would win. It could flap its huge wings to cause confusion and break up any potentially lethal synchronised mini horse attacks. its huge thick skinned webbed feet would not only squash multiple horses, but would also be immune to bites. With its big beak it could scoop up and swallow mini horses whole. Therefore it would just be a matter of time before the duck won through.

Who and Why?
Edit : Fix the Poll Please!

Fascinating idea thsi is:lol: I haven't come up with my answer yet, I do agree with yoru analysis though. My concern with the horse sized duck is that it coudl get it's wings broken maybe by the others. Imagine a horse with 100 ducks all over it to give you the scale. And liek you say these littel buggers have hooves. Then again horses aren't very aggressive and tend to run off so  Ducks can reralyl go for it, and their beaks are quite nasty.
Gav - March 10, 2008 09:26 PM (GMT)
The horse sized duck would more than likely stomp all over the duck sized horse because they would not have the brain power to get together any strategy whatsoever unless they had brains with the intellect of human beings (and they dont because they are duck sized horses). And if they weren't stomped on they would run away as quick as possible because they would be scared.

Erm- the horse sized duck would win because it had the advantage that it could fly ? (assuming it was able to take off )

Yeah, I doubt the duck would be able to fly, but the duck would still win-no doubt about it, but i think a lot of horses would get away, they'ld be pretty damn fast-even if they were small.
Imagine if that duck could fly-birds defecate on the wing don't they?

Exactly, it could do bombing raids on the horses :P Plus it could land on them and squash them by the dozen B)
If it could fly, it would have a definite advantage .
Plus how strong would a horse as small as a duck be? Would they be able to inflict much damage on such a large and well-cushioned object as a horse-sized duck?
BIG-TODGER - March 10, 2008 11:02 PM (GMT)
The carnage would be horrendous, a blood bath-those poor horses.
And you're right the duck would be well cushioned, in fact an army of those ducks could take over the world-we'ld end up being their slaves

I think Id rather face DJ with her chainsaw than a giant duck :P

got to be the horse sized duck - having been at the receiving end of vicious attacks ;) from normal sized geese and swans, I can imagine that once threatened, this duck would be using it's beak to devestating effect.
Plus - surely if feeling under attack, it would do that rearing up, wing waving thing. Which is pretty scary in regular sized ducks, and thus would have the mini horses bolting for the hills...
Big Al - March 16, 2008 10:06 PM (GMT)
Looks like the Duck wins then ! :ok:

On dry land the duck-size horses are my bet. A horse-sized duck would be way too cumbersome - just imagine all those little horses stamping on it's webbed feet.
In water or in the air there's only one winner.

I would say we can find the solution of this in our sport. It does not matter how many times one can bring the ball back, if one hasn't got big enough weapons, one loses.
The sized horse duck all the way.

the duck-sized horses mount an attack to pluck the feathers from the horse-sized duck...
the horse-sized duck lets out an almighty Quaaaack but to no avail, the little blighters have plucked out all its belly feathers and it sinks....*
* the dsh's were standing on each other's shoulders, using reeds to breathe through and taking it in turns to pluck the feathers out. Sure it took coordination but they'd been watching Riverdance ;)

Good point!
I must say havign studied ducks for years and having sone knowledge of horses I find this tricky. I keep havign visions of the duc sized horsed winning, but then I remember Crispy and Arrow (my two regular garden ducks named after Crisp Aromatic duck) beign rathe rviscious once they got going. I've also seen some bloody nasty horses (well they hate me anyway and I've never got on with the things) so it's a toughie still in my mind.
The only way to settle this once and for all is to invite the horse sized duck and the 100 duck sized horses down to Wimbledon Common adn se ewho wins.

I won't answer that
But what i will say is I've decided that the horse sized duck is not as strong as it appears, having made careful observations of horses and ducks this weekend I reckon it is quite vulnerable. But also that ducks are harder b*stards so I'm still stuck
