i'm so proud of jilly crayfish. what a cv: beat kim clijsters, beat serena williams at wimbledon, won titles. and now she's in another tour final. and she's older than me (slightly). jilly you're an inspiration.

Craybas could have almost retired with a perfect record in finals, holding championship point from 6-5 up in the decider. B) Instead the top seed steadied the ship just in time to triumph in a rollercoaster match 6-2, 1-6, 7-6(4).

Just as well Craybas didn't win, really, as Radwanska made a complete hash of the third set, losing five of six games from 5-1 up, squandering match points across two service games and pegged to a tiebreaker, so that it would have been an utter collapse for her to have lost it all. Instead she made good on her very next match point. Much as it would have been an outstanding effort from the American veteran to best a player 16 years her junior and claim only her second title despite a career spanning decades, I much preferred the Polish teen to continue her ascent in the rankings with her own second title. Good on Craybas nevertheless, and well done to Radwanska, who has already pulled out of Antwerp for unspecified reasons (presumably fatigue?).

i'm so proud of jilly again. brilliant comebacks in the match. from my perspective it's a shame that she couldn't finish it off as it would have been an amazing feat but i had a feeling it would pan out like this. in fact i bet 150 quid at odds of 3 to 1 that jill would win a set, so thanks very much crayfish.

i keep expecting to hear news of her retirement but she just keeps playing and keeps fighting. good on you, jill craybas. never surrender.
