I don't know aobut anyone else but I am recently getting errors trying to get onto CC whereas other websites work fine some that have much more MB or whatever it is.

What is hapepning?

I've not been having problems getting on to CC, but I am finding that the PM system is ridiculously slow. :shrug: Not sure what's going on - could just be the invision servers having hiccups :blink:

I've had the same problems. My PC isn't great but I'm managing to use the internet fine and other sites, and when I try to log on here it takes ages and has crashed my PC a few times. Give me a lot of trouble last week actually. One morning I was unable to get into CC at all despite trying loads fo times.

PMs - they are very slow and I am finding that sometimes they don't seem to reach the recipient. Oh and my connection to the site has goen down loads of times whilst the PM is sending.

As we're all having similar problems, I assume it's the invisionfree servers and unfortunately there's not much we can do about that. We can ask the invision people if it's just something with this board or if it's a problem with everyone and see if they can do anything :shrug: but other than that I'm afraid there's really nothing we can do...... :(

No that's fine. I don't expect you to do anything. :) I thought it was just me and my PC so it's reassuring that it wasn't. It's been OK with getting on the site the last few days. It only really annoyed me cos I was trying to sort predictions out and I was sat there needing to score up and coudln't get on! The PMs are still slow mind!

Trisco, when you read this would you mind putting in a support ticket asking about connection problems and PMs being very very slow to send? :kiss2: ta muchly!

Well its not a hastle it works 90% of the time so its all good.

I don't use PM's hardly ever so i didn't notice that was slow.

Yeah it generally seems to work, I guess every site has glitches. There used to be days where the BBC went down anyway. The thing that really annoys me thought is if I have typed a long post and then it crashes and I have to do it again. But generally that if fine. :)

ok, well we (and when I say we I mean Trisco of course ;) ) put a support ticket in and see if that helps us at all. We'll get back to you if when we hear something back :ok:

I'm pretty sure Invision won't be quick in anyway to be supporting these boards anymore as they have pretty much moved onto supporting the zeta board format for the foreseeable future. Although that is simply my understanding and Trisco may have a better idea.

A few months back when I was trying to get the "gender" functions working on the CC Invision test board I was looking through the support sections on the Invision site and everyone was basically posting that the invision style was not being properly maintained and zeta boards were the way to go.

I would imagine the zeta boards will all be based on faster servers that are being maintained and supported with greater efficiency than these invision boards which is why we may start seeing problems.

Another reason to get along to zeta boards pretty much ASAP I reckon.

we have put in for an uprade to the zeta boards - however according to trisco it is taking them a very very very long time to upgrade the boards. So although we are trying to upgrade, it could be a few months away yet :unsure:

Can we not just try to switch to that board we had? Or is that a big no no? I know to start with we will have few threads, but over time no-one will notice or care when it builds up??

we will end up losing all of our old posts though, which i think would be a shame. We felt it would be better to hold off on the move and try and find a way to get the board upgraded - hopefully it won't take too long to get the upgrade :unsure:

Fair enough. Makes sense. I'm glad they do offer the service of a full upgrade to a zeta board. Coming from an IT background I imagine it's a big job, and although probably an automatic one....a massive one given all the posts on boards such as this....and even bigger ones!

well, from what i've just been reading, at the moment they're doing it manually :blink: So it's a huge job! They started the conversions on 15th January and as far as i can see no one has actually been converted yet :blink: But by converting it means that everything will be on the new board - post stats, emoticons, member lists, as well as there being new features. But we felt that on balance, if we could find a way to not lose everything from this board, it would be best to hold out for a few months and wait for the conversion :ok:

Good point! Hadn't thought fo that.

Just had a quick nosey and nobody else is mentioning anything about slow PM's or connection issues on the support site.
Maybe people are just putting support tickets in as there is now particular reason why it should just happen on here and no where else.

What browser are you using?
Any specific instance when it does it? Like maybe when you try and return to the home page?

It mostly works OK for me, I occasionally have connection problems /slowness but nothing as bad as what some other people are describing.Im on a pretty slow broadband line too.
