Title: andy murray out of davis cup!
Flame - January 30, 2008 06:23 PM (GMT)
might as well forfeit the tie guys, cause a slim chance just became no chance with the loss of mr murray.
Harry Potter - January 30, 2008 06:30 PM (GMT)
This calls for the return of uncle Timmy.
Flame - January 30, 2008 06:32 PM (GMT)
does anyone have tim's mobile number?
Gav - January 30, 2008 06:51 PM (GMT)
Mildly amusing. What looked like something worth seeing has now turned into rabbit poo.
SuperBRAT - January 30, 2008 06:52 PM (GMT)
We were screwed form the start so what difference does it realyl make ?
Duchess - January 30, 2008 07:22 PM (GMT)

apparently Andy will be replaced by Ross Hutchins
and Acusaso pretty much sums it up:
"I think that with Murray in the team they were not the favourites, without Murray they have no chance.

T01 - January 31, 2008 03:33 PM (GMT)
BBC reports that Lloyd apparently said that Murray didn't tell him directly and had to find out from 3rd parties.. What kind of a person is Andy then? I think we should ban him from playing for GB rather than waiting on his mercy to show up.
After all he doesn't have any injury it is just prevntive (could injure if surface changes from hard to clay then back to hard-indoor) they say. Because he will come out to play next week or so ont he inddor courts and he doesn't want us to get angry for the fact that he didn't play Davis cup!
pratt.. never liked him.. now never will....

841 in the world! Are they taking the p**s?
May as well have asked Anne Keothavong to dress as a man, and then we would have more of a chance of winning!
liam_valid - January 31, 2008 04:48 PM (GMT)
Shame, i wanted Murray to give Nalby a Glasgow kiss to avenge Tim :(

WimbledonAce - January 31, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
What a farce! Disappointed in Andy, I mean theres been cautious and there's being a bit tight! I guess he thought they were going to lose anyway so why risk it. Seems totally pointless going at all now, all that way too. Bah humbug!

quote from Andy's post-match interview at the AO
| QUOTE |
Q. It's obviously early days to reflect. What do you think you'll do now, between now and Buenos Aires?
ANDY MURRAY: Go home, take a few days off to relax, see some of my friends, and then start training. You know, I don't know when I'll go out to Buenos Aires or not. I'm going to have a lot of travelling to do the next few months. I'll spend a fair amount of time back in the UK and then after I feel fresh and ready to start practicing and working hard again, then I'll do that. Whether that's in three or four days or a week and a half, two weeks, I don't know. |
I remember reading that and thinking he might not bother going

Yeah this does sound more like an excuse! I can see where he's coming from after last year but to tell porkies is a bit naughty! Feel a bit sorry for Lloydy too, finding out third hand.
Flame - January 31, 2008 10:35 PM (GMT)
he's such a creep imo. compare and contrast with tim henman who beat thailand single-handed with a shoulder injury that later required surgery.
that's committment, you horrible, selfish little oik.

btw ross's team just lost to acasuso's team in movistar.
so much for mr doubles specialist.

exactly.. I think we should stop support Murray. After all we are supporting him as he is a Brit. Otherwise why? Not for his hair cut surely. If he can't be supportive of the team GB then why should we bother? He knew all along that it will be a clay court match with the Argies.. Then he knew he has to come back to Indoor.. nothing new there..

this is starting to sound like the "Isn't Murry nauseating" thread. I don't have time to read all of that but what about his brother? Is Jamie the same personality? they're both pretty young-maybe they just haven't matured.

i came on a bit strong there, lol. i need to keep my prejudice under wraps more. but personally, i find jamie lovely.

I like your signature Flame-I'm guessing Henman was your hero? That's cool you got to see him in person.

Jamie does appear to be of a much sunnier disposition. mind you, they had very different tennis educations didn't they - Jamie went through the LTA whereas Andy got sent off to Spain  I think you could be right though, Andy just needs to mature a bit.
