Just found this interview with Nadal from before the AO

BBC Sport Nadal Interview

I saw this some while ago and was really taken aback at the tough questions directed at Nadal. I could almost visualise a politician ripping the mike off and saying "I've had enough of this"! My opinion of Nadal rocketed after watching it!

yeah, i actually felt fairly uncomfortable with some of the questions asked - and some of the quotes read out from newspapers. Rafa did a good job of answering them really. :ok:

After watching that interview, Rafa has definitely shown to me yet again the guy has class. :ok:

I agree - he handled himself really really well, especially considering he was answering some tough questions in his second language  I was really really impressed!! :ok:

oh ,and he cried for 25 mins when he lost Wimbledon??? that's actually quite sweet

He is a nice guy for sure. But I think it's good to have interviews like that asking questions we have always wanted to ask.

BTW, Gav, looks like I am not the only one that thinks that his jumping around in the locker room is an intimidation trick. This is someting shared by all pros it seems. But again, I am not bothered by that. It has the opposite effect with Tsonga. :P

Gav - January 30, 2008 01:01 PM (GMT)
Well Tenez, what can I say? If I was a professional tennis player and I let something like that get to me (even if it really is intimidation) then I'd be pretty upset with myself.

Tenez - January 30, 2008 01:12 PM (GMT)
Yep but I don't think that's someting even professional players can control. It's like if you were boxing versus Tyson when Tyson was at its peak...They more or less were all scared! Those guys have reputaion preceding them. Now they all know that nadal can actually tire and that will certainly change the approach of furture matches.

I'm going to be very interested to see how Nadal copes on clay this year. Many people seem to think he will be effected by injury and tiredness.

I think the Djokovic factor will be the most interesting part of the clay court season. Can he and Federer both challenge Nadal on the surface he has proven to "own" the last couple of years? And how will everyone fair on grass this year? An interesting Spring and Summer await us I feel.

Tenez - January 30, 2008 01:30 PM (GMT)
Yes that are the right questions. We know how close matches have been on clay even the last 2 years so, on the day anything can happen.
