I know LDf, we havent seen her since march :o

I hope she plays Stanford

LDF - July 12, 2006 04:26 PM (GMT)
As for the American women, long the game’s dominant bloc, the top-ranked player is Lindsay Davenport, who started the year at No. 1 and has dropped to No. 10.
Davenport, who turned 30 last month, has not played on tour since March, citing a back injury. But she withdrew from Wimbledon, where she reached the final in 2005, because of a different health problem. After resuming training in her native California before Wimbledon, she fell at home and sustained a concussion along with other as-yet-unconfirmed injuries.

In an e-mail message forwarded by her agent, Tony Godsick, Davenport confirmed that she had injured herself in the fall but did not give details. She has resumed practicing in preparation for the United States Open but is not ready to give a date for a comeback.

So she could have been ready for Wimbledon :(

Good to hear her back is better though!

The Dav - July 12, 2006 04:27 PM (GMT)
Apparently she didn't miss Wimbledon due to a back injury, it seems she fell at her home and suffered concussion and other injuries :o :(

She really is due some good luck :(

And it takes a lot to hurt Venus' wrists, as we know  so those bags must have been pretty suspect roflmao

By the way, Lindsay's confirmed for New Haven :)

So she's still playing 3 events before the US Open, despite not playing LA.

Furthermore, whatever happened to Sharpie's in-grown toe nail :yikes:

Selesfan - July 12, 2006 11:23 PM (GMT)
I say this every Slam, but this time it's more than optimism. I keep saying that Lindsay will win the Slam that is about to take place, but this tiime, I really really really believe that she is going to win the US Open, and the Aus Open in 2007. It's definitely more tha optimism this time, it's my gut feeling.

So does anyone knwo what is going on? cos i think if she doesnt; get back soon that is going to be her hanging up her racquet at the end of the year which would be a shame. She doesnt; striek me as the kind fo player who will carry on regardless as I get the impression she wants to move on, and ther eis all thsi talk of her starting family etc.

Here's the article:

Davenport withdraws from Bank of the West Classic

July 15, 2006
PALO ALTO, California (Ticker) - Lindsay Davenport is still hampered by a bad back.

A three-time Grand Slam champion, Davenport on Saturday withdrew from the Bank of the West Classic, which will be held on the campus of Stanford University between July 24-30.

Sidelined since mid-March with a back injury, Davenport had won this $600,000 event three times, including 2004.

This hardcourt tournament is one of a handful of West Coast events that the California native uses to tune-up for the U.S. Open, which starts on August 28. The U.S. Open champion in 1998, Davenport reached the quarterfinals at Flushing Meadow last year before losing to Russian Elena Dementieva.

Davenport will be replaced in the draw by Alona Bondarenko of the Ukraine.

*sigh* :(
