Title: Day 7

Some odd results shaping up here.

Domachowska came from behind to knock out Li in straight sets.

Lisicki was a set and 4-2 adv up against Wozniacki but the young Dane has fought back to take it to the decider.

And Petrova is producing an astonishing choke against Makarova - 5-2 up in the second set after taking the first 6-1, and she dropped her serve twice when serving for the match to go to 5-5. She broke again, and choked again... but as I type has finally taken it 10-8 in the tiebreak.

Hantuchova got through easily against Ruana Pascual and has to be the clear favourite to make the semis from this weak, weak quarter of the draw.

amazing match between petrova and mak. i would have won 800 quid if mak had clawed it out. and she came so close to winning the breaker. yet another hearbreaker for old flamey.

woz and lis shared sets didn't they? they're just beginning a decider.

Yeah I had a mare, saw the score when Lisicki was 4-2 adv up, then it changed places on the scoreboard a bit later and I assumed it had been taken off cos she'd wrapped it up. Expect Wozniacki will take the decider quite comfortably.

Henin up against Hsieh next. Hsieh plays nice tennis and did brilliantly to get to R4 here after having never previously won a GS match, but if she avoids a splattering off Justine I'll be very surprised.

i stuck 2 quid on hsieh. she's a 50 to 1 shot, lol.

Decent bet at that price, Henin's gotta be getting tired after all these wins and she did somehow manage to lose to the then basically unknown Bartoli in that Wimbledon SF.

Only really interesting ones today are Serena vs Vaidisova and Dem vs Shara - the big guns are gonna struggle a little there I feel. Should be two tight sets to Serena and Sharapova, but it wouldn't be a huge shock if either lost.

Hmmm, didn't quite work that way in the end. The big guns all safely through to the quarters from the top half of the draw.

Can't believe Elena got hammered by The Cheat, I knew she'd lose but didn't think the scoreline would be so one sided... :(

Glad to see Jelena through to the quarters, better than she did last year so that's good. :)

I think Dementieva can get back into the top 10 again, now she has ironed out her serve, after a lot of people were writing her off, and saying that she would fall out of the top 20-25.

After thrashing Peer, I was debating whether she might be able to take a set off Sharapova but I was a bit wrong...

I think whatever happens against Serena, this performance really augurs well for Jankovic, for the rest of the season. She's the first to admit that she isn't playing her best at the moment but to get through to the quarter-finals, despite not playing to her full capacity is really promising on improving (or at least equalling) her best GS run.

And she is as pretty and charming as always
