Title: DANCING ON ICE
Description: the Brilliant and the Bad Boleros !

SuperBRAT - January 14, 2008 10:19 PM (GMT)
Dancing on Ice 2008 has begun  So discuss it here! Let's hope it is a good show :ok: What do you think so far? IS Greg a dancing diva or plank of wood? Discuss all the action.

Btw if anyone wants to find a link to the site or post the contestants name sup feel free :ok:

SuperBRAT - January 30, 2008 10:20 AM (GMT)
Who saw last Saturdays and who should have gone? Must say I was surprised with the results of the skate off - was sure they would send Steve Backley home cos they really slagged him off and his routine really did not work, but suddenly they saved him and sent Samantha home. I was shocked. Not that she was brilliant but she ws competent and more consistent than Steve .

Btw I see Greg is improving, but I was laughing my head off when he did the James Bond impression roflmao He MUST stay because he is entertaining. Aggie is also a great sport. :ok:

I think best male s Gareth Gates and best female whateversheiscalled form Hearsay aka Heresy.

styeffo - January 30, 2008 08:44 PM (GMT)
Gareth is very good, and Suzanne is also good....and the replacement lass was outstanding.....

Greg..... :(

I forgot about the replacement - she must have been practicing hard! Suppose no one dropped out then she'd have trained in vain which makes me wonder if she'd had previous experince. Or maybe they pay stand ins.

Was he? Didn't know that. I gues sif you are a stand in though and come on the following year you have a whole year to practice in yoru own time, which must help.

I really like Steve so was glad they kept him in, felt he had tried hard this week. To be honest Sams injuries were doing my head in, she had to go.
I love Gareth, he is so funny :P Think he will go far. Also still rooting for Greg although he is awful, James Bond OMG!!!! Jason is being a right bas**rd to him though, no need for that! Just because Jase needs to cover up his neck because of his dog collar scars, not Gregs fault!
I think Suzanne and Chris are really good, enjoy watching them. Good show so far :ok:

 thought this was a 'Dancing on Ice' thread

Right, back to the dancing. Refuse to support Chris to win as he had far too much previous experience from playing Ice Hockey, so its far to much of an advantage in my book.

Greg makes me giggle every week....he is sooo awful and is just like a wobbly plank at times. :giggle:

My fave last night was Suzanne, although she did have a few wobbles and thought her scores should have been a little lower to reflect that. I thought the girl from Corrie (cant recall her name) was undermarked...as she was extremely light and graceful on the ice.

I like Linda too...(sorry SB, but she was hardly a porn star....was she  ) lol.

Jason was bloody rude again last night :( As Aggy said, unless the remarks are constructive, all they do is undermine your confidence and WHY did they always have to ask for Jason's remarks after Aggy had performed

Gareths shirt was extremely see through last night B) oops...sorry, and I THINK her preformed quite well, but not sure to be honest. B)

Nice to see Holly 'dressed' this week

liam_valid - February 4, 2008 05:34 PM (GMT)
I agree about Chris, but its hardly his fault he was an ice hockey player, and he does put in the best performances. I do think his previous experience will count against him though when it comes to the crunch :( my family have alread vowed not to vote for him because of this.

I really did like the new girl (is that the corrie one Mo?) and i cant see anyone but her and Suzanne making it to the end.

My arguament with Suzanne is that if Chris is to be vilified for his skating experience, then surely she should be in the same boat with her dancing experience

Greg Rusedksi's had skating experince and look at him!

My favourite is Gareth Gates, he is much more flowing and graceful than Chris. :ok: I think if Gareth peaks at the right ime he'll win. :)

Chris is good though, he had to win because he got his routine more spot in than others and it was hard. I liked Suzannes best though, although there were errors, but it was hard. Funny legwarmers

I want Greg to stay cos he amuses me  That woman off Corrie isn't as good as folk make out. At times it was like a skater with a dummy because she was uneasy in being lifted. Very stiff legged too.

Linda is shite, and her actign is no better. She is being dragged round by her partner, who she appears to be shagging if you look at them grinning and all. He's moved in so I hear! :yikes: Sh eis lucky because he si the best guy on there to have if you are shit - look what he did for Gaynor Faye. I'd like to see him with a good confident skater next time rather than propping up a no hoper.

Who else? Steve - he's OK but not really going anywhere. And that other guy doesn't impress me much, he seems cocky and doesn't flow.

And god bless Aggie, what a sport

Hey Mo

Yes, before it started I saw some of them on brekkie TV with Phil Scofield, when they were plugging the new series. They mentioned two skaters had experince - Chris from Hollyoaks (is he of HO  ) had apparently been in ice hickey and was realyl godo so they reckoned, and Greg also played ice hockey, although he did say he wasn't very good at it and changed to tennis, also he admitted he was a lousy dancer

You can tell Chirs has had realyl solid experince, George is always commenting on the amount of speed he generates on ice, and he's very strong on his legs and confident and I guess he got that from the ice hockey.

Yes I agree on Jason. It's a shame becuase I do often find he has constructive observations and he isn't over generous like some with marks and that is a good thing, but he's really picked on Aggie calling her an OAP and saying her music was wrong because it is about a pretty young woman. I think she was very brave to give the show a go at her age, they don't get many over 50s apparently so good for her. And she looked really nice too. He was just knocking her confidence week on week, I really wish she'd had a go at him at the end but she didn't bother. I think she was glad to go and she made the most of it with her toy boy partner :D

Yeah we noticed Gareth's shirt! They often do a see through one on there. Didn't Duncan from Blue have one? I find them a bit much but I realyl like Gareth's skating and want him to do well. He's really nice, no idea why everyone was calling him a t8sser years back.

Not sure about Holly beign covered - moreso than last week but I don't get why she and other celebs wear these knecklines down to their navel and their bossoms are seperated and hang really wierd. Just wear a normal bra and have a kneckline that stops above it. I must be gettgin old. ;)

styeffo - February 5, 2008 06:51 PM (GMT)
Suzanne is the best methinks.

Chris and Gareth both very good....

Tarrah(sp) very good, could be in the running.......

Interesting comments ;)

Personally don't give a shit what people wear on TV generally, but if you are going to care then that was nto the best way to display yourself. Tits swinging everywhere and lookign uneven - I hate those knecklines. And you can't get any cleavage in there so why bother? I personally thought those kind fo dresses were fo rthose size 0 anorexics with nowt!

It is afmily show though, so no need, bu then gain i suppose Gareth Gates had his t*ts out

WimbledonAce - February 5, 2008 08:08 PM (GMT)
Chris was brilliant :ok: He is so natural on the ice, really enjoyed it. I remember when he was in just the two of us and he was a good singer as well!
Also love Gareth, he is really good too and will go far.
Other good 2 - still Suzanne and Corrie girl. All the rest are poor.
Greg - Bless him!!!! He just hasn't progressed at all. And his little face when Ruthie said it was his night to go :( Couldn't believe he was straight through again! Hope he has a miracle this week.
Was right that Aggie left, she did try but it was pretty awful. Shame Jason had to be such an arse though, she should have had praise for trying.
As for Holly - I didn't even notice her boobs last week until there were all the comments! Bit OTT I think, it's hardly page 3.

SuperBRAT - February 11, 2008 11:28 AM (GMT)
I think it was a good show this week. :ok: Didn't think the guy who left was that bad at all, but it was obvious he was going to be bottom 2. Linda should have been there, her compulsory element was awful and she was held up by her partner again  Judges saw through it at last. However not 100% sure that Steve Backely was that much better when it came to the skate off though, and they saved him 5-0.

Suzanne's routine was excellent, she really attacked it and that headbanger lift was excellent. Chris was excellent but oddly his routine didn't seem to flow right to me, and he seemed to show his partner up ! Amazing spin though. I enjoyed Gareth, such finesse, but he needs to start attacking it a bit more and up the tempo. And I enjoyed Greg's - he has improved, it was still funny but it was enjoyable and what it is all about :D

WimbledonAce - February 11, 2008 09:28 PM (GMT)
Yes Greg did improve, hurray! Poor Steve skate off again! Tim was pretty poor, not surprised he went, and he messed up that spin at the end, felt a bit sorry for him for that.
I like Gareth best, he wasn't as good this week but I'm hoping he will improve in the next few weeks where as Chris and suzanne are good already.
Never knew Greg had so many fans, lol!

:lmaao:

Yeah Jo, the judge in question is a real b*tch and quite unpopular with the sudience - although personally I think he often says what needs saying and is a good critic of dancing BUT he often rubs folks up the wrong way in the process or just says unneccessary insults. . It was funny cos Greg answere dhim back an dsaid he migh tget to the final and Jason (the judge) said "if you're at the final, I won't be!" Silly Jason because people will vote fo rGreg even more now so as Jason goes!

Actually I think Greg does have charisma, rhythm no, but charisma yes! He is humourous and very quick on the ice, but they slowed him down and gave him something that didn't suit him. He's much better skating round like a nutter :D

SuperBRAT - February 18, 2008 11:53 AM (GMT)
Anyway this week Olympic javelin medallist Steve Backley left. I felt sorry for him becuase I kinda like him. He's not the most exciting skater and needs more speed but I don't mind watching him as a contrast to the rest, and he had improved a bit. I think the standard and the complexity of the routines has gone higher and Steve would have looked really good in the early days. And I felt sorry for him because he can't bend and get through the ice like they kept saying due to his hip - it's artificial. :(

WimbledonAce - February 18, 2008 07:51 PM (GMT)
Jason is so out of order! He is obviously singling Greg out for abuse. Poor Greg, felt so sorry for him this week and he just stood there smiling. Jason's an idiot though, the more he slates him, the more the public vote for Greg. I mean I know Greg's not very good but he is trying, was glad when he stayed :ok:

Yeah true, there is no way they could have kept him then. I so hope Linda goes, she is annoying! This week she skated alone for th efirst time, it wasn't that great and considering she's never done it before it's amazing she hasn't gone. People might criticise some of the other men but at least they are skating unsupported. Tbh she seems popular, so is Greg ( which I'm gald about as I like him( so wonder who will maek the bottom 2 nwo Steve ha sgone? Zara clearly isn't popular, mayeb ti will eb her again. If Greg gets in there he si dead meat though..

Totally agree :ok: he was overly abusive to Greg in the circumstances. Jason was on TV today, the presenters asked him if he was serious about leavign the final if Greg was there and they told him that abusing him onyl makes him more popular. :ok:

SuperBRAT - February 18, 2008 08:10 PM (GMT)
Anyway on Sat's show - not as good as last week, silly theme was tacky and made the routines so. I love 60s music but they went too takcy on some of the outifts, and I hated the Locomotion, no wonder Zara wa sin skate off  Chris made it cool though doing the Who. But hsi invented move was daft, and had bene done before like Jason said and looked silly. Loved the way he attacke dit but he lacked finesse. Gareth had finesse but I kidn fo wanted more attack and ooomph. Suzanne was really good, she can skate on her won so had nothing to prove so the judges were wrogn to mark her down for being lifted a lot - the lifts were hardly easy. She's no Bonnie Langford though.

Linda is poor, Greg is Greg but i want him to stay cos he make sme laugh :D Zara is beign ove rhyped, she is stiff and wooden from the waist down and her lifts are ropey and unelegant.

Not sure if I would call it "banter"!!! I think Jason is well overstepping the mark. He is so rude.

SB you are right about Chris's move, I did agree with Jase on that, it was crap! Totally pointless.

Linda just seems a bit evil to me. I like her partner though, he's so lovely. Zarrah's partner Fred is my v fave tho

I know what you mean about Linda. Shame she got such a great partner, he is the best - he even got Gaynor Faye to win. :yikes:

Jason is out of order, but that worm thing was just sad as he said. It looked like it went wrong too. Chris was fab last week though, what a spin! My trouble is though I don't warm to him at all personality wise. Seems cocky. I liked the guy who was runne rup to Gaynor Faye :D

SB you are right about Chris's move, I did agree with Jase on that, it was crap! Totally pointless.

Linda just seems a bit evil to me. I like her partner though, he's so lovely. Zarrah's partner Fred is my v fave tho

Forgot to say in the womens I like Greg's partner Kristina best. So I realyl don't want her to go, sh edanced with Stefan - that's th eguy I liked.
