liam_valid - January 14, 2008 04:26 PM (GMT)
ta :ok: i hope they can play this out without withdrawing. As a big fan of theirs it would be a great start of the year to see them both fit and healthy in doubles and singles :)

vivahate - January 14, 2008 06:01 PM (GMT)
there's some dangerous floaters in that draw. but i also sense some of those doubles commitments will be dropped as the ladies progress in singles.

do Dani!! even though you're playing with linds

Duchess - January 14, 2008 07:49 PM (GMT)
I saw where Jelena J is playing w/Bethany Matteck-that ought to be an interesting fashion show. :lmaao:

a few surprises there with doubles specialists getting beat by random singles hook ups. Glad Dani and Linds are through, and even happier the Williamses neverpulled out

They do indeed! Kuznetsova and Mauresmo have pulled out though. Tis a shame but I guess they both need to work on their singles game after early losses!

Just a thought but wouldn't it have been interesting if the Bondarenko sisters had ended up playing the Williams sisters in the final?? Has that ever happened before in a GS final - at least in modern times? Anyone know of any such occurences?

well the Williamses are out of the comp  might happen at the FO

SuperBRAT - January 24, 2008 06:39 PM (GMT)
It's not the results I anticipated for the final - very much the youngsters who are predominantly sinlges players taking control.

Congratulations to the Bondarenko sisters. Australia must be a lucky place for them as they also trounced Australia in the Fed Cup last year!

Scotsguy - January 25, 2008 08:36 AM (GMT)
Well done Katy and Alona

Dropping just 2 sets all tournament I think. Fantastic result and it means there's an eastern sweep on the women's titles....
