liam_valid - January 10, 2008 02:21 AM (GMT)
Well believe it or not, these were the only players on the poll!!! I am loathe to say Pierce had a better forehand than Steffi but will vote for her

I was going to look for some youtube clips but I think you guys are right, there is no point.
Steffi Graf easily!
I think Kuznetsova's forehand will be talked about as a great shot in 5 years time assuming she continues to improve.
Federer-Williams - January 11, 2008 06:02 AM (GMT)
Graf easily why Mirza or Henin's is on their I don't know.
Of the current generation obviously Kuznestova and ivanovic maybe Vaidasova in years to come.
I also found this. Not a consistently great forehand but when she cracks it as good as any other person. This was form 2003.

Another list that, apart from Steffi, seems to prove tennis.com have some severe issues with their picks.
Steffi for sure.
SuperBRAT - January 11, 2008 01:11 PM (GMT)
It can onyl be frauline forhand herself. What are these folks on, their picks are shit!
Of modern players, Kuznetsova has a deadly forehand - reminds me of Graf actaully - and if she could only sort herself out and win more majors then she might get up there.

if you want to see the modern greats forehands. check out the tie break between venus and mary at wimby 2005. im trying to find it on youtube now. some of the shot making in the second set of that match from both women make kuzzy and ivanovic look ordinary

i cant find the wimby match, but heres some highlights of a match against safina in moscow where her amazing forehand is on display  (there some pretty nifty backhands in there too ;))

Ah, yes the Kremlin Cup from 2005. I watched the final just last month against Schiavone. I recorded it on 2 discs at the time so I was joining them together on one disc. Good match too, Mary was absolutely wonderful in 2005.

trisco - January 14, 2008 08:03 PM (GMT)
Has to be Steffi hands down, I think looking at the results we are all in agreement :D
BIG-TODGER - January 14, 2008 11:25 PM (GMT)
It has to be Steffi, although i've always admired Capriati's I thought hers was simply top drawer-maybe she's 'other' i'ld love to know who the mysterious other is, i can't help but think it's man in drag, otherwise why would their identity be such a closely guarded secret?
liam_valid - January 15, 2008 01:03 AM (GMT)
the other was mary [pierce and i voted for her
