Title: Rugby Six Nations 2008
Pebs - January 9, 2008 07:21 PM (GMT)
list of fixturesfor anyone who might have a passing interest in the six nations, heres the fixtures for this year... I am already very excited!
Have just been reading about the new 'lethal weapon' for our team and, like the gullible gal I am, totally believe that this will be our year!
Bring it on!
Vainikolo tipped as England star

I havent time to catch up with all the pre six nations talk so no idea how the teams are shaping up or whos favs - though I suspect that will be France again - but am looking forward to catching the action this weekend.

I probably wouldnt have minded if you hadnt put this one up Tenez ;) I assume you are quietly confident for your boys....

a lacklustre ireland scrapes past a gallant italian side at croke park. i don't think we're going to be a factor this year.
Wise_Analyst - February 2, 2008 05:55 PM (GMT)
France will undoubtedly win the GS. England overachieved at the WC and fair play to them, but they won't win at Stade de France again - they should have enough to come second though.
Wise_Analyst - February 2, 2008 06:16 PM (GMT)
 Ignore the last part of my above post. England just threw away a big lead against Wales. Would be nice if the Wales vs France game on the final Saturday was the decisive showdown - I can imagine the French choking actually. Wales will do well to win in Ireland though.
Flame - February 2, 2008 06:55 PM (GMT)
that's one of the most amazing sporting turnarounds ever. how did england lose that match? lucky welsh imo. but gutsy too.

:moody:
I cant believe they did that - we played like complete tossers that second half.
Big  to Wales, would have been easy to come out already feeling defeated but they turned that around fantastically - replays of that charge down will haunt me for a long time!

I must say England should have won at a gallop, but Wales went for it in the 2nd half and England just fell apart, they seemed to have no leader as such.
Great result for perseverance!!!!

Percy who Stef?
Was gutted when I heard about the charge down and Wales going into the lead It only seemed like minutes since I'd heard that we were 19-6 up :arghh:
Hey ho! Well done Wales, seems as though yet again an English team thinks they've done enough at half time and forget the other team has balls!!!
Pebs - February 3, 2008 05:13 PM (GMT)
And France open their account with a 27-6 win over Scotland
didnt see the match but sounded like the French under their new coach were quite impressive - controversial ( didnt see so cant say) first try or not...

1 down, 4 to go!
styeffo - February 3, 2008 06:05 PM (GMT)
The one try was deffo a forward pass, but hey if they don't call it, it doesn't matter.
France were always in control however.

Flame - February 10, 2008 05:06 PM (GMT)
england scrape past a dogged italian side 19-23 having given away a joke charge-down try.
as bad as england were in the second half, you have to give credit to italians who so nearly pulled a rabbit out of the hat.
Dinky Jo - February 10, 2008 05:13 PM (GMT)
could i just say how much Brian Moore made me laugh??? my god, i've never heard a commentator shout at the players so much :giggle: hilarious.......

I didnt see the game - just a scoreline now and then and I was shocked at final score - I know we are fielding an injured side but ouch!

firstly, more than we needed to know pebs hun :P
but yes :chesire: for our boys - i actually got to watch the whole match - i'm loving the BBC live streams :D i know next to nothing about rugby, but it was an enjoyable match (probably only if you happen to be English) mainly 'cos there was very little of this kicking lark and much more actually making some attempt to get trys.
but still more :chesire: for Wales who just appeared to destroy italy (or the Italian team more specifically) :D I'm betting MissSF had a fantastic saturday ;)

 there was no detail! I cooked him a lovely meal and he was too full to argue over the remote with me is all.... :halo:
yep, Wales did good but I kinda expected them to whip some Italian butt... I wasnt at all sure where the England game would go... Eddie and Brian were on top form again though!

me too - there was a bit when Iain Balshaw is running back after nearly cocking it up again shouting to the others to get back and Brian comes on the commentary with 'its no good you shouting, its you! you not catching the ball and then dithering with it causing the problem'
you tell him Brian! :lmaao:
