:o Fed;s got the winter vomiting virus????

Let's hope he's all fit and well for the AO and also hope this doesn't mean that it's about to spread throughout the tennis world - 'cos that might make for a fairly rubbish time for the players and fans

Well I don't know if it is that, they call it Norwalk virus (the winter vomiting one) or Norovirus. It's highly contagious and and remains so 3 or 4 days after you recovered. They were worried in this country cos we had a record outbreak this year. It was discovered in Norwalk Ohio at a school. It thrives in large indoor environements, like hospitals schools and workplaces. It's the one that often results in closures of hospital wards - they have refused to admit any new patients to hsopitals in some areas. Lots of folks have returned to work or school recently and some fools haven't recovered and will spread it. When I heard about it I thought best not eat out or drink in the pub for a while cos I know folk who got it like that. I thought i was getting ti 3 days back but am Ok now touch wood. Spread via contact with the person or surfaces they touch. And you should not preapre food for someone if you've had it for 3 or 4 days after you recover.

I really hope this virus is not spreading through tennis, cos that woudl be a disaster for the AO! I it is Norwalk then spread it will like wildfire. There is no vaccination or antidote, it must run it's course. It also makes folk dehydrated, nto what the players want! They had all better watch what they eat and what loos they use and pray it goes away.

Oh no, the men are falling to injury and sickness too? Gee, maybe they ought to cancel the Aussie Open. :lmaao:

Pity about Fed's stomach virus - the first rounds of the AO could be a little bit dangerous now, but barring a nightmare draw, I would expect him to be able to play himself into form.

Kooyong will still be *very* interesting though - I wish I could watch it!
