Ok, so now you are a fully fledged member, why not have a look around and get yourself familiar with the new surroundings.
We currently have
7 Categories within which you will find
forums and sub-forums for particular subjects.
TIP: To see what topics people are discussing and have been discussing in the past 24 hours, you will find a link entitled "Active Topics" located in the "Welcome" forum. Clicking this will show you all current discussions. The seven categories are as follows:
• Welcome – The Welcome category has 3 main forums and various sub forums. The main purpose of this category is to provide members with answers to queries and provide a place to give updates about the site and also to let new members make a grand entrance and start a thread to say Hello! You will also find new sub-forum dedicated to providing users with a place to ask a question for help.
• ATP – This category is dedicated to the men of the ATP tour. Here you will find forums and sub-forums dedicated to specific areas of the ATP. Specific player threads, a picture thread, current and future tournaments. Also includes a dedicated forum for Live Scoring updates for any member to help others and give updates to current matches.
• WTA - This category is dedicated to the women of the WTA tour. Here you will find forums and sub-forums dedicated to specific areas of the WTA. Specific player threads, a picture thread, current and future tournaments. Also includes a dedicated forum for Live Scoring updates for any member to help others and give updates to current matches.
• The Locker Room – The purpose of this category is to provide a place for general tennis news or info.
Includes a dedicated thread for tennis videos and currently has a sub-forum dedicated to the biggest poll we have undertaken to discuss the Greatest Shots of All Time. Also includes a sub-forum where members can let others know about their tennis and maybe even post videos or pics of themselves or ask for advice about their tennis.
• Centre Court Archives & Resources – We have been running for nearly 2 years now so have a wealth of information and discussion in our archives. This includes archives for tournaments from both the ATP and WTA and archives from the Centre Court users off topic discussions and games. We are also currently implementing and building a comprehensive tennis directory.
• Predictions Contests – This category lets you have a go at predicting who you think will triumph each day in matches from selected tournaments throughout the tennis year. You can find the schedule for the contests here and this is a year long competition but feel free to play as much as you like and join in at any time.
• Off The Court – This category is Centre Court’s social off-topic area. Here you will be able to find many threads and discussions about subjects non-tennis. You will find many games here and many sub-forums dedicated to Music, Films, YouTube and News etc. The main social thread is entitled
"Heyupp Folks!" Anyone can join in this thread and the more the merrier. May seem a little daunting at first as you will find a lot of the posters know each other but please do join in and you will be made to feel very welcome.
To help you around the forum, you will notice each forum has its own marker in the form of a tennis ball. If this ball has the words “
New Post” in front of it, this is to let you know that another member(s) has made a post in this forum that you have not yet read. If you can only see a tennis ball then that signals there are no new posts at that time.
You will from time to time see the tennis ball with other symbols over it, if you look to the bottom of the page you are on, in the left hand corner you should be able to see examples of all tennis ball markers and what each one symbolises.
Creating ThreadsA thread is a new post created by a member of the forum to which other people can reply to. To create your own thread, you need to click the button “
New Topic” that is displayed in the top right hand corner in each forum.
You will find similar buttons here that do similar jobs. “
New Poll” will enable you to attach a poll other members can vote on to your thread. “
New Reply” will add your reply to an existing thread and when available, “
Fast Reply” will make a small text input box visible at the bottom of the page so you can quickly enter your text and post if you do not wish to move onto a new page to create your reply. This is simply a faster way to post.
Personal MessagingOur forum supports the use of a messaging system that enables you and other members to communicate privately.
You can send a message to another member by either clicking on their username and then clicking “
Personal Message” or when a member has made a post on the public forums you will see a small blue button under the post that shows “
PM”. Simply clicking this will take you direct to your own “
Inbox” where you can compose and send your message.
All messages sent cannot be seen by anyone other than the people involved and are completely private.
