Btw Liam - when does voting end? And is this it or do we have to lose one contestant and then sing the Christmas single? If I get through I will be releasing "oh bondage -up yours!" by X -Ray Spex, with sleigh bells. I toned down form F8ck the USA and Beat the B*stards doubel A side by Exploited

Actualyl check out X Ray Specs, Poly Styrene is cool, Germ Free Adolescence is a top tune.

I know, there are not many folks about are there?

Siouxsie was punk, she was part of the Sex Postol's gang, the Bromley contingent. I'd say that she became much less punk later and developed her own style - in fact she is almost goth. I have seen her live, she is awesome although nto a fave of mine. Dear Prudence is my fave, although ti is a Beatles song originally. I considered using that song but felt I woudl go more with my roots.

Tenpole Tudor were kind fo pop-punk, psychobilly if you rermeber it - cross bewteen rock and roll and punk. I love that song :D

Yep, and it seems to have been forgotten. A lot of the top punk tunes have been. I don't think those who make the compilation albums and dig the old stuff up on the radio give the youngsters a real feel of what punk actually really is. A lot fo those top punk songs aren't punk at all, or are much later than punk and have a remote influence. And all the politicla ones, that punk was supposed to eb about, and the dissaffected youth etc seem to be on the back burner when they were the forefront - excet the Pistols cos they are the best known I imagine. I don't think you can capture and appreciate the spirit of punk really unless you were there. And the 'Oi" stuff was wrongly linked to racism so that died a death quite quickly.

Somone bought me a Best of Punk CD, it's not really very good and fails to catch the full spirit of it.
