My intial thoughts are

1. how bloody boring! Except for Leon, the others are doing TWO songs that we've heard before! Yaaaawn! C'mon it's the final, show us one previous song and something new. :rolleyes: Kinda heard it all before.

2. the acts haven't been given enough variety and they've played safe shamelessly (although Leon has some but I'm scared of that :D ) Rhydian - he's stuck to slow, safe choral-opera stuff. This guy has so much variety, and as a fan I don't like how safe they've played and I wanted something lively. With SD they've gone for the two sings that the kiddies love too, really playing to the market.

3. that Rhyd might not win because he isn't having enough variety, and that SD have a really great chance as they will be the antidote to the ballads. And that if Leon pulls it out with the Kylie song ditto for him too - maybe Danni has been more cunning than we think giving him that?

4. that the judges haven't necessarily picked people's best songs - Rhyd's was Phantom (and Meatloaf was pretty good too) with SD I liked Scissor Sisters and that one they did last week by S CLub 7, and with Leon I thought Fly Me to the Moon rather than you don't know me? :shrug:

Well I'm only a viewer so what do I know? ;) All I know is not looking forward to this as muc as I was , but looking forward mostly to Leon and Kylie as it should be funny! :D

The acts for duets are rather incestuous - Danii's sister and her sister's ex! roflmao I'd have expected Best of British acts - would Elton John and Rod Stewart not come then? roflmao I know you are nto going to see original artist like Paul Weller and Kate Bush on there, but I'd have thought Take That would be a good choice. I liked them last year. Still at least we don't have Westlife :lol:

And SD just make up the numbers as far as I am concerned - Jason Donovan is probably just right for their type of campness and it will all be wild, wacky and ever so slightly nauseating so...

My songs for Rhyd would have bene Phantom, maybe something rock-opera like the Meatloaf, or a bit of fun with Pink's song covered by Shirley Bassey. I might have given him something new - what about Under Pressure by Queen and Bowie - and a duet? They could have got David Bowie on but he's too cool. B)

I'm at a loss as to why Queen never really worked for Rhyd actually, and why they've gone all boring. Suppose you tune in for the first time, unless you are an opera type you are nto gonna see how versatile he can be and you might be bored and nto vote for him.

I'm a bit disappointed that they are doing 2 songs we have already heard. I presume we will hear the final 2 do the winners song also? Here's what I think :

Rhyd : Loved it when he sang Somewhere before but agree it is very safe. Would rather have seen a bit more drama, he does it so well. Again safe with You Raise Me Up - think Styeffo has a great choice with Music of the night, that would have been superb. Holy night should be a belter, trying to recall who did it before on xfactor/pop idol, I remember it was pretty good then.

Leon : Only looking forward to his duet with Kylie - should be different! Pebs, Sonia did a different song called Better the devil you know for eurovision, it wasn't a cover of Kylie's. I worry that I know that! White Christmas will be pretty dull.

Same Difference : Like you say surprised a little at theirs, can hardly remember the high school musical one. Any Dream with Jason should be fine, no problems. All I want for Christmas - I LOVE this song!!! One of my fave Christmas anthems. However, it is not easy to sing, trust me Ive tried it in the car! Could struggle with this but it will be so Christmassy it will be fab.

So who will win? It should be Rhydian, no doubt about it. But we know what the public are like, Same Diff could sneak it. Fingers crossed for the Rhydler :pray:
