I poured myself a scotch, settled back into the sofa and watched the match between Graham Earl and Amir Khan with a great sense of anticipation for a good boxing contet perhaps extending to 10 rounds...
72 seconds later, Khan had won! He was incredible, and hit Earl 15 times in the head in a final flurry causing the ref to stop the match!
Khan's management reckon he'll be challenging for a world title fight before July - I can see it happening!
I don't have pay per view so I couldn't watch Rick Hatton vs Floyd Merryweather, but apparently Hatton was outclassed and went down in the 10th.
I reckon it's the end of the road for him now
I didn't really understand the hype prior to this match because Hatton has proven he is an excellent light welterweight and an average welterweight and Mayweather is a proven welterweight (perhaps the best ever).
I think Ricky will step down to light welterweight and take on Junior Witter. It's now important for him to get a world crown again and dominate the division his frame and body were made for. :ok:
