Title: X-Factor Final
Lex - December 8, 2007 11:08 PM (GMT)
Ohhh the bliss seeing the look on Louis's face as Nikki was voted out!
I thought Leon should have gone personally, but...
Nikki's first song was just wrong, if she'd have sung it as a direct cover it would have been better, her twist didn't work. Her second song has been done to death and she really made a mistake singing that one.
Leon's first song was ok, a bit weak but ok. His second was dreadful, it took him 2/3rds of it to get in tune! He can't dance or move properly on the stage. I guess the mums love him.
Rhydion's first song was amazing very good indeed and he nailed it. His second in my view has been done to death and was a mistake, but he performed it brilliantly.
Same Difference's first was sheer entertainment and well done, their second, I thought they pulled the emotion card too much but they sang it brilliantly and earned their place in the final.
Did I say how much I enjoyed seeing Louis's face?

Thank god Nikki's out! My god, she's been the bore of this competition for weeks now, and by the end has only revealed herself as an overblown cabaret singer
I think the final is the right final. Same difference impressed me with their second song tonight. Gimmick-free and some sadness tonight, not just the OTT happy personas.

Same difference were gimmick free?, i think you need to look up the word gimmick in the dictionary i'll save you're brain the strain and explain 'the special feature is typically thought to be of little relevance or use. Thus, a gimmick is a special feature for the sake of having a special feature'
Now if you really think that does not apply to SD then fine, but i suspect if you're dumb enough to believe that you also believe in fairies, pixies and that Serena is still no 1 in the world.

BT, there is really no need to personally attack DL04 for expressing his opinion. Disagree with it as much as you like, but do not do so in such an insulting manner please.

I thought Rhydian was fantastic last night - in fact, I blubbed my way through most of X Factor  I thought he sang just amazing and soooo deserved his place in the final
Leon... I thought he was rubbish last night - and to look at his face after each performance - I think he knew it too. I thought he would stay - just cos I thought it would be him versus Niki and he's got the girlie vote - Nikki couldnt compete with that
moving on to Niki - well, first of, congrats for not blubbing when you got voted out! I thought she handled things really well and I thought she sang well last night - she probably didnt deserve to go over Leon and I would say shes a little more talented than an overblown Cabaret singer ;) but go she did.
And then SD.... okay, I am not a fan, and I find them slightly nauseating - but who couldnt be moved by her last night??? I cried with her and for her - and though, I dont think they should be there in the final - I am actually glad they are :)

When asked who should go out I said I don't care as long as it's not Rhydian - sums up what I think of the rest.
To be honest though it should have been Leon - he was really dire, can only assume the whole of Scotland voted for him. Did not enjoy either of his performances, could easily have whizzed through them both on the video, boring!
Nikki - Shame for her really, she should have made the final. First song - well sung but like they said not for the semi. Second song - Not up to Whitney I'm afraid, I love 1 moment and she wasn't good enough. Like Pebs said - no tears though, wow  Very diplomatic and well handled, good girl.
Same Diff - Nafftastic but knew they would make it, especially with the tears for added sympathy votes - good move guys. 1st song - again performing circus, seen enough of it already. 2nd - Just about their standard - SClub. Liked the Christmassy feel though - hurray! They better not win, I will be so p*ssed off!!!
Rhyd - Don't you just love his little grin??!!! Changes his face from scary to adorable, lets hope he's smiling next week. Bridge over troubled was outstanding, I love the song anyway and it blew me away. 2nd song - as Lex said done too death - Ray did it last year. Great performance but not the song for me. This guy has winner written all over him, he has been perfection all the way through
Just a note - they usually do a best performance on finals night, which would you pick for each?

Last night was not that good. IMO Nikki deserved to stay, she was consistent and is much more talented than Leon. My pinion on the acts
Leon - sorry but he's gone as far as he can go and should have gone. He was weak last night and straining and his song choices were not the best. He murdered the Marvyn Gaye song. He is cute but being real, he's talented BUT not remarkable and it was his time.Oh and I'm a huge swing fan so I've heard all these songs done better. He's not Michael Buble, in fact he isn't even the dire Jamie Cullum.
Rhydian - oh lord, what HAVE they doen to you? Rhyd has been my fave since bootcamp but they are makign him sooo boring when he is such a versatiel artist with great presence and drama. Now we have a choral dose of Westlife. I still love him but he's not grabbing me like he did before. I liked his songs by Meatloaf, Pink and Phantom. I'm sick of these choral ballads.
Nikki - I like her, I think they chose rather boring songs but certainly no worse than anyone else. She sang well, being objective I think she was probably the best singer of the night. I can see folk might think she is a bit cabaret but she is a damned good singer and it did not matter what she sung, she was going home because she is an older woman - just like Beverley said. Sad thing is she needed the win more than the youngsters who can have a career.
Same Difference - Simon Cowell is an idiot, he did nto work their great harmonies enough. The Chain Reaction one was nto their best vocal, but the other song worked well for them and becuase they are so neergetic, likeabel and perfrom well they were sure fire finalists. I picked them for the final in week one and they thoroughly deserve it. In many ways I hope they win cos Rhyd will have a career anyway and it will screw thw x-factor to an extent as it shows folk don't want wailing Leona and warbling Shane .
Anyway I think Niki is an amazing woman, the girl done very good indeed and all the best of luck to her. And corny story or not, her dad will be very proud
The final should have been SD, Rhyd and Nikki - always the case from day one IMO and Leon didn't do enough to deserve to beat Niki to a place.

Jamie CUllum is not dire SB :o
He is great...some of his songs are fairly neutral but he done some great revamps of old ones. His first album is the best though.

Sorry F-W but I've not enjoyed what i heard. I saw him on TV gratuitously thrashing his piano and ruining the song Purple Haze in the process. It so annoyed me! :o And I saw him sing some jazzy versions of pop classics and I was not too keen. I really wanted to like him. Do you have any material I might check out? Maybe I never saw his best stuff? Any suggested songs and I'll give them a lsiten. :)
