Drumroll please....

with the correct answer of 1987.... (thank god nobody got it wrong as was tres easy!) is.......

Our very own Pebs! :yahoo: Pebs wins two tickets to the Masters on Saturday and I hope you enjoy the tennis hun.

Was surprised we didn't have that many entrants as the comp was open to guests too but it is good the first name drawn is somebody from the actual board rather than somebody who doesn't post.

Enjoy the tennis Pebs and commiserations to those who didn't win. There will be more comps soon. :ok:

Well, it wasn't open to non-UK residents (not that I would have been able to make it due to my hectic schedule) :(

Oh and congrats Pebs for winning the two ticks, enjoy tardis tennis :D

Congrats Pebs!

I went on Wednesday and had a great time - saw Greg -v- Stich, Bahrami/Wilkinson -v- Gullikson/Macnamee and then Jeremy Bates -v- Wayne Ferrera.

I was mega, mega impressed with Jeremy Bates' play, he was outstanding :o I didn't realise he could play that well. I kept shouting out "Come on Jezza" and he looked over laughed and put his thumbs up!

When the match was finished I went outside for some air and he was in the corridor going to his dressing room and he recognised me and said "I haven't been called Jezza for ages" :)

Greg is gorgeous and I had a picture taken with him! I'm 5'6" but he just towered above me. All he does is smile :giggle:

Stich is a miserable git for some reason - even though he won.

The Bahrami doubles match was absolutely hysterical. That guy is so talented it's unreal. I was shocked at Chris Wilkinson also. I cannot believe that guy didn't get anywhere on the tour - his volleys are to die for.

Enjoy it Pebs .... I know you will! :)

Pebs - December 9, 2007 11:47 AM (GMT)
thanks guys and gals :D

QJ - you are sooo right! I know Mr I doesnt like him - but I fell in love with Mansour Bahrami!!! The guy is just amazing - very, very talented.

I saw Bharami / Cash v Jarryd / McNamara - which was a great match - my favourite one - all the players were fab and it was just a really good natured match - great fun :)

then Forget v Pioline - I desperately wanted Pioline to win but Forget serving made life very difficult - very sporting though - overuling the line judges and saying some shot was in when it had been called out and earning big respect from the crowd. And I could have just listened to them talking all day, never mind the tennis!

and then Leconte / Wilkinson v Ferreria / Pernfors - again, hugely entertaining and Leconte / Wilkinson made for a very funny combo! Wilkinson had to work his socks off whilst Leconte had lots of fun - but Leconte was deadly when he wanted to be!

All in all, a most marvellous day out...

oh, although, if the two braying idiots in the circle, front row next to the little lad on crutches happen to look in...

you are complete tossers who dont deserve to see another tennis match as long as you live - unless I get to stitch your gobs up first

Glad you had a great time Pebs, sounds fab :ok:

Glad you had a good time :ok: Shame Goran wasn't playing though eh? :D I've been to the Royal Albert twice, not for tennis but the proms. It's quite a venue but you can't see anything unless you get the good seats. I was in the Gods once, it's miles up! :o

So what did these tossers do near the lad on crutches?

thanks WA and SB :)

they didnt do anything in particular to the boy SB, its just he was really trying to concentrate on the tennis and they didnt stop talking the whole way through it - and they had the most annoying laugh - you could see him visibly flinch each time

why bother going if you are going to sit and talk all the time? it was just really, really irritating.

:( There were people behaving noisily in the corporate boxes when I was there to see Tim....very very annoying. They were over the otherside of the arena, and at times they all were standing with their BACKS to the court. WTF is all that about. Always makes me so bloody angry when I see that at a tourni and don't get me started on empty seats at Wimbledon. Disgrace.

Oh dear, I can feel the pressure rising. :argh: :argh: :argh:

Could nto agree more Mo, makes me pig sick. That's one of the problems with tennis in this country, too much corporate hsopitality and priviledged spectators. These people treat it as a day out when for most if us it's a major spectacle and they may as well be at the pub or a pary cos the tennsi si an aside.
