for me, this has been the story of the championships. 34 years old and in the semis of singles and still in doubles and mixed. saved matchpoint today with brave tennis. i've never been a fan before (he's a bit irritating sometimes) but the sight of jonas "embracing" the crowd after his win today was truly moving.

come on jonas!! glory awaits you! :)

also, i hope tim get inspired by watching old geezer jonas.

Yes forget Federer.
Bjorkman is the man of the Tournament for me. He is such a good old fashioned solid Tennis player. Truly one of the old school playing all the events there. He always has at all the Grand Slams. He is a star and i am so happy he will be playing on centre court against Federer it must be a dream come true for him. Yes the blonde lady is his wife Petra. You know I have always been a huge fan of Jonas and followed his career closely. He is a credit to the sport he really is. The only time I was unhappy was when he beat Henman at the Open in the year Henman was meant to beat him soundly.
This is his only 2nd G.S singles semi too. But he is no stranger to winning G.S's is he in the doubles.
He is such a good guy too. Acknowledges his fans who follow him all over the world.
He used to put money behind the bar for them whenever he won a match. A really nice guy. It was avery emotional win and I am delighted for him and yes it must surely give Tim Henman heart that he could do the same as he is still only 31 and of course he has been in 6 G.S semi finals. So you never know in sport. Bjorkman has been trying for 13 years to get to this stage at Wimbledon.
It definitely is the story of the championships and I wished tonight the BBC had given him more attention and credit for his huge efforts this year.

Did you hear the commentator say he has made a fortune in his career . He must have entering all the events.

What a great effort from jonas Bjorkman. he's always been a 'dangerous floater ' on grass, but he's really excelled himself this time at the world's biggest tennis stage. It's so refreshing to see a more conventional style of tennis as well. Lovely slices and sweetly-timed groundstrokes plus great prowess at the net. He's just worked so hard in this tournament and good on him. Hard work equals sucess and jonas has proved this over the years, and its paying dividends here.

3 cheers for jonas

obviously fed should eat him alive in the semis but that vicious return of his could give the champ something to think about. you can see why jonas has such a good record against serve volleyers like henman, stepanek and his partner max. if you follow your serve in against him, the first volley you have to play is a killer.

good luck against GOD in the semis, jonas. looking forward to it.

I agree with you two guys. Always been good on the grass. Always worked hard. A good old net smotherer. Good passer and best of all he has been the best returner the game has seen apart from Agassi. The mystery is why he has never had more success in singles. I reackon he is a laid back kind of guy lacking the killer instinct. But he defied all that when he beat Stepanek. He showed steel and guts to save match point. He has been around a long time though and he is no stranger to winning at Wimbledon even though its been mostly doubles.
Unfortuanely Federer will not be serving and volleying on Friday so I think he will struggle. It would be great if he could snatch a set though.
Good luck Jonas . I want you to win really but it wont happen sadly.
