They might as well cancel the Chokevetadze v The Cheat match...
Anna just has no belief at all when she plays her...
Gav - November 10, 2007 12:00 PM (GMT)
I'll be very interested to see if The Che....er.... Maria can continue today in the form she was in yesterday  . If she can put her injury and bad form behind her it would be very encouraging indeed to see her emerge as a challenger for Justine......or she could just turn into a turkey for the rest of the tournament :yikes:

She doesn't need to be in top form to beat Chokevetadze  , I predict a staright sets win for The Cheat yet again against Anna...

thats coz Justine keeps knocking them out
liam_valid - November 10, 2007 12:52 PM (GMT)
I want Maria to win this coz she is my fave out of the four left. If i were to put them in order of whom i want to win it would be:
Maria
Ivanovic
Justine
Chaka

I doubt anyone is surprised to hear that Sharapova's dealing with Chakvetadze pretty comfortably, already a double break up.
Sadly, I feel Henin will dispatch with Ana quite routinely as well, although I fancy Sharapova to win the final. She's been in awesome form the last couple of matches, and I feel she'll just want it that bit more than Justine... she has a point to prove here.
Queen Justine - November 10, 2007 02:15 PM (GMT)
Ooh I don't know about Maria wanting it more than Justine :nope: Justine wants it all and she also wants to prove that she is the world no. 1 don't ya think? I know Justine beat Pova last year in the SF here and also got the world no. 1 spot, but Pova beat her in the USO final 2006, Justine will want to beat her in this final as well. If these two will play the final, hopefully it should be a good one, but you are right, Pova is playing the best tennis here and I will be worried.
As for the Ana match, I dunno, I think Ana might have a chance.

Oh Justine definitely wants it, but only an idiot would say she wasn't number 1 in the world - 2 wins and an SF at the 3 Slams she played, and miles ahead of everyone else in the rankings. She doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. Sharapova, on the other hand, has had a terrible year and a fair few people have written her off. I think she'll be that little bit more hungry - the YEC is her last chance of winning something of note this year.
As for Ana, I'd like to see her trouble Justine, but I don't think it's going to happen today. I'd be happy to see her play some good tennis and not freeze up, irrespective of the final scoreline, but it's likely that it'll be 6-3, 6-2 sort of scoreline.
Having said that, the theme for this YEC seems to be revenge. Bartoli beats Henin at Wimbledon... Henin double bagels her. Ana destroys Maria at RG... Maria returns the favour. Henin thrashes Ana at RG... :P :P :P
Incidentally, Sharapova has just pissed on Chakvetadze 6-2, 6-2.
Gav - November 10, 2007 02:45 PM (GMT)
Chakvetadze made to look silly today, but I think her day will come eventually.
Well done to Maria though... :yahoo: :yahoo:
She now moves on deservedly to the final where she will face Justine or Ana.... odds on that its Justine (and I hope so to as that would seem like the exciting final given what Masha did to Ana yesterday).
Justine and Ana due on court in 15 mins or so I believe. I see Justine smashing Ivanovic before she realises she is in a match to be honest.
Queen Justine - November 10, 2007 03:01 PM (GMT)
I'm so damn nervous ....

Queen Justine - November 10, 2007 03:19 PM (GMT)
:peek: :peek:
I feel :sicky:
Queen Justine - November 10, 2007 03:20 PM (GMT)
Her matches have been too easy here - she needs this competition, but my heart can't take it!
:phew: :phew:
Gav - November 10, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
Well Justine has battled back from 0-2 down back to 2-2 winning quite a long game on her own serve there where she faced a few break points.
chokapova - November 10, 2007 03:40 PM (GMT)
 she doesn't seem that nervous. She has just broken for a 3-2 lead when Ana double faulted...
liam_valid - November 10, 2007 03:41 PM (GMT)
this is the best match of the tournament. I just hope Ana doesnt let that hairs-breadth miss on break point get to her. QJ must be like a pig in shit watching her girls play like this ;)

It's fabulous, but I still want my no. 1 Queen to win it!
Actually, I hate it when they both play each other, it upsets me because I don't want either of them to lose :( :( :(
chokapova - November 10, 2007 03:48 PM (GMT)
and nervous Justine :P eases to a 5-2 lead... :)
Gav - November 10, 2007 03:49 PM (GMT)
Justine has shaken off the first few games of the set to look simply peerless right now :o
Queen Justine - November 10, 2007 03:50 PM (GMT)
She is truly AMAZING........ well to me she is
Oops, perhaps I won't speak too soon :o

How do you think she'd do against Pova Gav?
Apart from her double faults

If they both play at their best I think the only winner is Justine. But you never know at what kind of level they will both turn out like tomorrow (if Justine wins this that is!) :D
Gav - November 10, 2007 03:58 PM (GMT)
Well this topsy turvey set sees Justine with another chance to serve for the set at 5-4.......
Queen Justine - November 10, 2007 04:04 PM (GMT)
Queen Justine - November 10, 2007 04:06 PM (GMT)
I hate these sort of matches - they make my nerves bad.
Gimme a Bartoli 6-0 6-0 match anyday! ;)
dl04 - November 10, 2007 04:18 PM (GMT)
Justine is crusing now, the early test from Ivanovic seems to have dissipated............ Justine just seems in a much better groove now, ironing out that forehand technique more. Ana just seems out of ideas tb now
Gav - November 10, 2007 04:18 PM (GMT)
Not sure you will have to much to worry about now QJ. Henin 3-0 up in the second set and looks set for victory now and a showdown with Maria tomorrow.
Is Ana's dress designed to optimise boob sweat? Not that I'm knocking it! ;)
liam_valid - November 10, 2007 04:19 PM (GMT)
I had to look twice to see if it was different shade of blue material, but it all looked the same shade at the start of the match. Its not a patch on Marias outfit though
Queen Justine - November 10, 2007 04:24 PM (GMT)
It's not over yet - Ana broke back
Justine, Justine, Justine
Queen Justine - November 10, 2007 04:34 PM (GMT)
Gav - November 10, 2007 04:42 PM (GMT)
Well Ana is really making Justine fight for it, but she has just gone 5-3 up.... Can Ana come back from here? :o
Queen Justine - November 10, 2007 04:46 PM (GMT)
No one can say my two girls arn't fighters.
Trouble is I hate seeing them fight against each other :(
Justine serving for the match ........ now watch her f*ck this up and Ana will break
Gav - November 10, 2007 04:52 PM (GMT)
GSM Match Justine 6-4 6-4   :yahoo: :yahoo: ....and I can hear a massive sigh of relief from QJ...
I think Justine was a little nervous today for whatever reason.... .and Ana put up a good fight... Roll on Tomorrow!! :D :D

Justine needs to up her first serve percentage tomorrow, Maria would have blasted her off court today

I love how you just rained on Justine's parade roflmao
A solid performance from Justine today, not as smooth as earlier this week but still far too good for Ivanovic. I still cant see Maria toppling Justine though. Justine usually upps the gears for the final so i would think this time will be no different.
