Title: Bitchfest: Who do you HATE on TV/Celebs?
Description: diss the diabolical here!
SuperBRAT - November 8, 2007 02:32 PM (GMT)
Tell us who you cannot stand on the TV or the celeb world in general. Or who simply annoys you in a role that really isn't for them.
My list is too long! But you all know I can't stand Jonathon Ross cos he's big headed, dominates his interviews, uses crap, low predicatble humour, is attention seeking and really isn't that clever. God knows how he gets to be the authority on so many things like films. And getting yer nob out on Buzzcocks is just going too far for attention Johnny boy. Oh and may I add your suits look stupid and get a proper hair cut! roflmao
NEXT! :D
SuperBRAT - November 8, 2007 05:15 PM (GMT)
C'mon you B8tches! :D
Peter and Jordan - why are they always on TV. They even have their own show! :yikes: I don't want to see their wedding, their house, their new clothes ro here them talking utter rubbish. And most of all, Peter Andre's singing was bad enough without doing duets with Jordan! Pass me a gun so as I can shoot out my eardrums .....

I dont mind Wossy
dont worry SB, I shall be sure to visit this thread - I just need to watch tv to remind myself of who drives me mad!
I am currently in love with the newish channel Dave, and, as a result - with Top Gear  they show it all the time and I just find it fab and Richard Hammond rather yummy
but as a result of all this love, not much bitching - but I will be here, oh yes!

Yeah we talked abotu Dave earlier. Sorry I had not read this beforehand.
And a syou are in love with Richard Hammond, I'll start a thread for people we love on TV! :D
Tbh I can't think either. I tend to see these people and go YUCK and change channels.

I used to like J Ross but he's started to grate lately.
Sorry Pebs but Hammond does my head in! Enough already about how he almost died! Yeah we know you have a book out! Don't like the new look either, yuck, yuck, yuck!

I've nothign against Richard Hammond, but I am sick of hearign abotu his car crash. Sure it is tragic, sure I don't wish ti on him or anyone BUT he was doing something bloody dangerous at the time so these things happen. My sysmpathy lies with people who have accidents that they do nto contribute to, that are trying to drive safely adn midn their own business, then they end up seriously injured or disabled, even dead - now that is real misfortune and where our sympathies should be.

That's what I was saying earlier funnily enough. He was on yet another programme telling us about his eventful helicopter ride etc etc. At the end of the day he was driving a ridiculously fast car, not for neccessity but purely for fun. Accidents like this will happen. Of course I wish him no ill will and I'm glad he recovered, but to be making money out of it eg book, dvd, t-shirt (ok im going ott) is just wrong. I hope some of that money is being ploughed back into the air ambulance and hospital service who's resources are already overstretched without having to rescue these thrill seekers.
Pebs - November 12, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
hmmm... coming from two of the biggest fans of 'car crash' tv, after me - I am surprised at you two belittling a guy for making money out of something that happened to him ;) Lets see now, yes, he was driving a ridiculously fast car and he may talk about it alot - I have yet to see him but I am on the look out all the time - but hes a celeb and thats what the tv chat shows want to hear about - not Joe Bloggs who crashed his car at a ridiculous speed on a main road whilst putting lots of other people at risk rather than on a race track well away from the public...
Seriously? Nah, I dont suppose he is everyones cup of tea - but I have only ever watched him in Top Gear - which is something fairly new to me and I find the programme and the presenters highly entertaining - but this is a bitch thread, so as you were ladies!
just remember my fellow definition and I hold the following;

oooh you b*tch! roflmao
I've nowt against him at all Pebs, I watch Top Gear myself. I quite liked him on there. :) It's just the fact that sympathy was misplaced with his crash, in comparison to others who don't contribute to their own misfortunes by driving at stupid speeds. If he want to drive like a nutter in private, fine, he's no danger to anyone else granted. But nto everyone in accidents in public places is irresponsible - everyonein my family has been victim of some idiot's stupidity on the road, even me as a passenger. I came off lightly, but my parents didn't. They almost died and my dad can't drive on motorways now cos of his nerves. :( But I'm not being biased cos of them, it's a general feeling. I wonder if he paid his NHS bills after persuing dangerous sports on purpose though? That's a fair point from WA :D
Am I one of the biggest fans of car crash TVon here? :yikes: I'm worried now! Not sure that is totally right, I like talent shows with singing and dancing in. It's not all all abouuthe 'car crash" element for me though cos I avoid BB and those celebrity shows.

Actually, I probably will :P I've seen Top Gear a few times and I think Hammond is quite amusing. Yes, he's making money out of his crash, but people want him to talk about it, so.... But in the end, he was doing a stunt for a TV show - i'm sure there's plenty of TV shows that make people do daft stunts (I'm a Celeb???? )
oh, and Hammond's family asked for donations to be made to the Yorkshire Air ambulance - and raised enough to allow the service to buy a second helicopter :ok:

I'm a Celebrity is just stupid really. Looks dangerous to me, it's purpose confises me. I saw a bit of it last night, there was this nightmare woman on it but I have no idea who she was. American, looked liked she'd had lots of face lifts and lots of make up, nasty woman.

Don't mind Richard Hammond, but can't stand that smug Jeremy Clarkson, and his fake man-of-the-people laddishness (he's actually a smart chap from a v priviledged background - not knocking him for his background, but for the pretence).
I find Jimmy Carr v irritating on all those Channel 4 TV list shows, although I have to admit he is a good stand-up with decent one-liners.
Natasha Kaplinsky I've already mentioned on Room 101.
It may be impossible to hate Alan Titchmarsh, but he's on TV and Radio far too much, and his latest TV series is v cringeworthy (Alan, you're a lovely bloke and know everything there is to know on patios and decking, but you're NOT the new Attenborough!).
Oh, and by the way SB, I've 'killed off' Tennis Big Brother - check out my preposterous ending for it.

I know what you mean about Clarkson. He's good at times, dire at times. I don't mind him.
Jimmy Carr - I forgot him, can't stick him. :kpow: He's nasty, smug and low with his humour. I find him really irritating. Most new commedians are just not funny enough to sustain their humour - you see them once and the gag is gone. And they don't seem likeable either, or that engagin when they chat on shows.
Alan Titchmarsh - I've never disliked him as such, I am a keen gardener as is my partner. But we don't think his gardening shows are that great and full or practical advice for people. Our gardenign teacher was RHS trained and she used to rip him to shreds for some of his advice ! :yikes: I do watch him, but mainyl to see the garden! My partner and I are both realyl annoyed to find him on R2 for hours on end on Sundays when we are often in the car adn want to hear something else. And the othe day he was presenting a chat show! Overexposed indeed.
Can't stand Kaplinsky either.
I'll check out BB thread now, I was just abotu to catch up with it and maybe contrbvute but seems I won't have to now! :D

Jimmy Carr - that man is just *not* funny. he sounds like he's constantly reading an autocue (it's possible he is tbf - just not very well) and instead of being spontaneously funny when people ad lib, he just tells them to f*ck off - and for some reason gets a laugh for it

In most of the shows he doesn on TV he is poor.
His stand up stuff, however, imo is genius.

Errrr.....taking the mick out of disability? That's not what I have seen in his stand up routines.... and I have seen two of them on TV. Maybe you caught different ones from me.... if he did do that then that's pretty bad.
He did do one joke about fat people....and it involved a woman....and it was hilarious. But I didn't get the feeling he was picking on women...or people with illness or disability at all. I will change my mind on him if he has however.

Tbh I cannot remember the exact stuff, I'm nto a fan but we all have our own tastes. Anyway being rude about people's size, appearance or whatever is equally bad and tiresome. And size can relate to disability. Rather boring too  Bte I don't think humour has to eb politically correct or anything, but lines of taste seem to get crossed too much these days.

I know what you mean, he is a bit snooty at times, he was on brekkie TV and wasn't amused when Fern Britton was questioning him and making jokes. What annoys me with him i show he never makes any mess, adn he claimed this recipe he was doing was quick, but all the chopping, peelign etc was done so of course it was. I bet he never washes up either!

I will change my mind on him if he has however.

we need a thread about stand-up comedians I reckon. I was just about to go on about how much i love Ross Noble then.....but, definitely the wrong thread
|
I've seen him live 3 times, going back liek 10 years ago. He was funny indeed, trouble is the set was the same every time. I did not know he was still about. His big joke was " what you CAN do ..." Seriously, I'm sure I've not seen him live for at least 6-7 years! Why not start a fresh thread anyway. :)

Anyway being rude about people's size, appearance or whatever is equally bad and tiresome. And size can relate to disability. Rather boring too  |
But I have heard Gordon Ramsey do exactly that in some of his programmes, and you like him? Laughing at people can be funny now and again... .some of the best comedians do make fun out of people's size whether we like it or not... and that could be because of a disability or not.

are we thinking of the same guy??? 'cos Noble has done a stand up tour every year since 1999 - and his show is different every time, because he just disappears off on tangents for half an hour, or has weird conversations with members of the audience, or basing parts of his show on people heckling him.

Yep, the guy was definitely called Ross Noble. :ok: I would never forget the name becuase every time we went to Brunel's Comedy Club somehow he was there! roflmao In fact eh was failry new to the circuit when I first saw him. He was observational liek the great Ben Elton a lot. he kept telling these stories about bad situations you get into and how to solve them - the 'what you CAN do ...." line., which had ne in stitches at the bar. I can't remeber much else tbh. So long ago.

I don't condone Gordon Ramsay for that. I don't like everything about him, in fact don't like everything about anyone it's not possible. But Ramsay can be answered back, and I certainyl woudl have a go back at him if he was rude to me (maybe I'll open a restaurant so as he can come and sort it out then I can tell him where I will shove the deep fat fryer;) )and he is not making an entire living out of it, he can cook and run restaurants as well - well I hope he can! :D

Gordon Ramsay I think is someone who people, including myself, get annoyed with because he's *ON THE DAMN TV* all the time - its getting too much.
I think his kitchen nightmares, etc, are rather tired looking now, but that's more the fault of TV producers with a one-dimensional view ("hey guys, wouldn't it be great TV if there was a rubbish restaurant and Gordon swears at them, telling them that they need to get their act together").
I think he's almost become a parody of himself on some of those programmes now, acting up to the camera a bit to give them good TV.
However, despite not being the most tactful person in the world, he does come across quite well still as a person and clearly feels strongly about food, and cooking.
If we can expand this to radio, then I find Radio 1, 2 and 5 annoying for various reasons...
Radio 1 - too cool/down with da kids
Radio 2 - that sally traffic woman who never has anything interesting to say and flirts in most cringeworthy fashion with the presenters.
Radio 5 - Nicky Campbell, interrupting guests, his unfunny witticisms, and the station's obsession with reading out text messages all the time
Also on Radio 5, that nice but dull and bland 'Spoony' character who does the 6-0-6 phone-ins, never with any controversial opinions.
This has gone slightly off tangent here, but wanted to share my radio related peeves!

Yeah you have a point about Gordon. But his passion si still there, and that is why I like him. If you've ever worke din a restaurant (and I've done several0, eaten in bad ones, had family who have run them as I have, then you'll feel the same. :) I personalyl despise lazy, crap uncarign restauranteurs. Eatign otu shoudl be a great experince, it costs enough, and you don't deserve fodo poisoning.

Oh god yes! She was on Xtra Factor this weekend. I'm sick of the sight of her. She was on the radio not long ago talking about having her baby and her classical piano albums. I get sick of people who say she is talented so deserves the over exposure. Face it she was in a manufactured pop band that flopped, she seemed to become a bit of a pin up girl and as she happens to be able to knock out a few notes on the paino she was allowed to make these awful albums. I've a friend who's a classically trained pianist, and he's better than her and he earns money doing it but no albums and no fame. Except in church where he plays the organ :D
She'd have NEVER got anywhere trying to sell her dodgy pop piano if she'd never been famous already. I wonder if she can get to No 1 with Tchiakovsky PC No1? :D
