3. Ivanovic vs. Hantuchova

Let's see if the Jankovic Henin match follows the pattern as most of their matches... a close match ending up in a Henin win.... maybe Jankovic will finally get the better of her?

And a chance to see what kind of shape and form Serena is in, I hope she can really put in a performance and we get to see Justine and Serena challenging each other at their best later in the tournament.

Wonder Woman Ivanovic is back after her fantastic and exhausting win over Kuznetsova last night... will she have the energy to see off Hantuchova?

:unsure: ..Well Jelena said she doesn't know what to do to beat Justine...so I don't know of any other outcome..unless she decides to go for broke for once and leave it all out there..... cause justine did look a bit tired by the second set with anna c....just her superlative tennis saw her through..

:) I don't know with serena being the fresher of the two... if she doesn't start erratically...then there is a good chance.. I hope she is also decisive and doesn't allow Anna C to stay too long in rallies cause that is her game..and she'll draw you in if you don't dictate things..


:) Ivanovic was clinical in the first set against kutzy.....but then again Kutzy is also too slow of the blocks...she did well to hang in there though..but it is the year end..so Daniela might just get a bit of a lashing if she decides to recoil. Shame...having to play Ana after Sharapova....these two thump the ball pretty well...count herself fortunate Serena isn't there in the group as well... hopefully Daniela can surprise me with something clever or else Ana getting into her rythm will not do her any favours..

I think this is Justine's key match, win this one in straight sets and she is home and dry. It probably won't matter if she beats Grumpy in the round robin then... :unsure:

Jankovic just doesn't seem to have it in her to challenge Justine in this form. Interestingly tho Justine has hit nearly as many unforced errors as Jelena....

Justine up 5-1 in this seconds set now....Jankovic has to pull something pretty amazing out of the bag now!

Next match up will be Serena.... I really want to see her in top form so we can get hopefully have some good competition in this tournament...... :D

Henin really has come on another level this year - only Serena can beat her here I feel, and she probably won't. She's going to be number 1 for a very long time.

Couldn't care less about the current match... don't rate Chakvetadze and fed up of Serena, although a win for the Russian would boost Ana's chances of reaching the final, I guess. Serena really should win though.

Although I'm not as confident as anyone else regarding the Hantuchova match later... Ana's got to be tired after last night's epic, and although their H2H this season is 1-1, Hantuchova's win was a straight sets demolition and Ana's a tough 3 setter, so I'd put this match at 50/50.

I really want to see Serena getting into the swing of things here and go up a gear.... She certainly can do it I am sure. It would be SOOO much better if she and Henin (and Maria ;) ) were both playing great at the same time!

Tbh, ' Mouthy pam' is a bit in your face sometimes with her torrents of speech, so i'm not suprised Serena brushed her off roflmao

Serena's playing 'ok', but it's still far too safe and with far too much topspin and margin for error. She needs to be hitting hard and flat and close to the lines. It'll give Anna so much less time, because at the moment Anna is able to hang in these rallies.

Anna is playing much better than yesterday. Smoothing out that serve technique a bit, more accurate and varied, not just down the T all the time. No sign of the dismal European indoor form yet........

I know, i am suprised at how off her rythm is. Seems to have zero control over it :shrug:

Sorry about Jelena btw :hug: 2007 has took its toll unfortunately, she's burnt out beyond belief..........
