Where exactly is Lidsay ranked now after her secong tournament win?
Gav - November 5, 2007 10:50 AM (GMT)
Lindsay has gone from 126 to 73.
Dark_Necrofear™ - November 5, 2007 12:25 PM (GMT)
At that pace she will be world number 1 in no time :P
chokapova - November 5, 2007 05:45 PM (GMT)
Lindsay is ranked number 73 at the moment which is a great achievement... :ok:
The problem is she won't be playing anymore events until the Oz Open which is fine if she gets a good draw but she could end up facing one of the big guns early on, anything can happen though...

Knowing her luck it'll be Justine roflmao
I think it's been like that since 2006! Serena has since taken over roflmao
dl04 - November 5, 2007 09:52 PM (GMT)
Lindsay's done so well, she really is a total legend! The ultimate pro
*please dont draw Venus at the Aussie*
chokapova - November 5, 2007 10:21 PM (GMT)
I'm just hoping she draws The Cheat and she serves up another double bagel! :ok:
vivahate - November 5, 2007 11:31 PM (GMT)
maybe Martina can give Lindsay her ranking. she don't need it no more

Its a bit ludicrous that she isnt playing any warm up events leading to the Aussie Open. But given her luck she might draw Venus or even Serena or even both.

Against Venus or Serena, Lindsay willhave some chances! But no chance against Justine..
Oh another thing: Serena finally admits JH is no 1 in the world right now!

Serena knows how good Justine is. She also knows however that tennis thrives on rivalries and her gushing about how wonderful Justine is will do no favours of getting people interested in the sport. Sometimes people forget just how much good the Williams have been for the WTA

The Williams sisters have been fantastic for the WTA, as has Justine, Maria, Lindsay, Martina.... can go back to Steffi, Sachez-Vicario....etc.... all those and more have been fantastic for the WTA....without them Iva Majoli would have done the calendar slam :P

Not quite sure if I do.... Yes some people underestimate what the Williams have done for the WTA.... but they are usually fans of other players.... the same goes for Justine... alot of people underestimate what she has done for the WTA... but they are usually not fans of hers... surely it's just swings and roundabouts..???

Im not talking about other players though-just Serena. People slag her personality, but when she burst on the scene, there was a clear upsurge of interest in the WTA
vivahate - November 8, 2007 06:06 AM (GMT)
absolutely. the women's game really came into its' own with the likes of martina, the williams', davenport and even late capriati and seles. they all sold and game and played it well :) they deserve all the props, and i think for the most part they get it.

I have to agree with this.Throughout the 90's into the early 2000s it came into its own and its abit waning now.Steffi and her generation sold the game brilliantly. For tennis in the 90's was all about the womens game.I never bothered about the mens game that much coz it was mundane boom serving and volleying. The women would engage the court in brilliant rallies that showed grit and determination. Then came the Williams,Davenport finally grew up and Hingis. In form former druggie Capriati burst back out of nowhere and gave us some gruelling encounters. These days the womens game lack all of this.Other than Justine Vs Serena or Venus there is nothing to really go GAGA about.Having said that,as much as I hate Justine,I love her tennis. Its truly beautiful to watch especially when she is playing well, which these days seems to be all the time! :ok:
T01 - November 9, 2007 10:11 AM (GMT)
Exactly, at present the star quality is not there. We had Martina, Serena, Venus, Lindsay, Jennifer and Mary etc to show us how to do things. These days Justine and Sharapova are the ones doing it. Hopefully, if Amelie can improve next year, we will see some good matches. Ana Ivanovic looks like she has the potential.

As much as I dislike Maria Sharqapova, I have never ever said I hate her...
Hate is a very strong word in my book, I just can't 'get' why you would say you hate someoen you don't even know... :yikes:
