Looks like another fairly lop-sided WTA draw unfortunately. Henin being drawn to face Serena and Jankovic yet again - Chakvetadze should be the whipping girl of that group.

Red group is also hard to call, but not really of the same quality. Any of those four could go through, but would be surprised to see any of them in the final.

Yet again The Cheat gets put into an easy group :rolleyes: although hopefully Imfatovic and Sveta will thrash her... :) :pray:

Poor Anna, if she was in the other group she could have made it through :(

Justine and Serena look likely to emerge from the yellow group, as Jelena has yet to beat Justine and hasn't beaten Serena this year (though they haven't played eachother since Australia).

As to the Red group, I'd expect Sveta and Ana to come out of that one. Maria might come bottom of that group with her lingering injuries etc.

Who are the reserve players? Bartoli and Dementieva?

Chokevetadze is overrated and would be lucky to make it out of either group IMHO... :shrug:

I like Anna as she seems to use her brains on court. She doesn't seem to be a potential slam champion but she has the talent to be a top 10 player. Plus I'd rather her be in Madrid than Bartoli :sicky:

This is a perfect chance for Serena to establish herself after 4 years of decidedly uninspiring tournaments. I always feel if Serena is playing to her potential, she's the best player in this YEC group. I feel however, it'll have to be Serena trying to dominate mentally, because her tennis isnt there at the moment :shrug:

Jelena 'Could i be anymore burnt out' Jankovic wont figure that hugely IMO. I cant see her getting out of the round robin if i'm honest, but she'll definitely be beating chaky along the way. If Anna's form hasnt improved, then it'll be a hard pill to swallow against those 3 players in particular :unsure:

Justine vs Svetlana

Lopsided draw again I agree.

Justine and Serena have to be overwhelming favourites for their group and would agree with a coupld of others here saying Sveta and Ana must be favourites for their group.

I would then predict Serena and Justine to fight out the final with Justine coming out on top because at the moment she is the best out there. Serena could cause a surprise but if both play the best tennis they are capable currently then Justine has to be the favourite. But never say never!

I'll be supporting Maria....err sorry Chokie... The Cheat... :) and hoping she can do something, but I fear her form will have her struggling to get a set let alone a win.
