I dunno, sounds about right for the Simon foreplay to continue...
I assume that the songs which arent actually big band are being swanked up to sound it? I can see that maybe working for Get the Party Started - its the only one I am looking forward too! - but Reach? Have I got the right song? the S club thing? if so....
WimbledonAce - November 1, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
Reach must be S-Club - not v big band!
Is get the party started the pink one? :yikes: Could be wierd!
Absolutely hate oh so quiet :sicky:
No idea what this boys in love is
Think the only one Im looking forward to is cant take my eyes off you as i like that one.

yeah, I never liked Oh So Quiet either WA - and I am not expecting Emily to make it likeable either!
the ones meant for the big jazzy numbers should work well - I will enjoy seeing them :)

My thoughts -
Andy - This Boys In Love. - no idea what the song is but I think he si crap and hope he goes home soon adn takes those sickly eyes with him
Alisha - Valerie - if this is the Stevie Winwood one, I don't see hwo it will work for her. It doesn't work for anyone else really. Exceot maybe Amy Winehouse's cover is fun, but Alisha won't pull that off. Too nasaly and weak on the big bits.
Bev - Feeling Good - a great song choice, Ninan Simone, love it. Bev won't give us th ebets version we've ever heard but it will eb enjoyable and full of energy.
Emily - Oh So Quiet - no! :yikes: Bizarre choice for anyone. The only person who coudl pull that off with an off beat version is Rhyd. Can't see ti working cos it is a bizarre song and requires the bizarre voice fo Bjork to pull it off.
FutureProof - Cant Take My Eyes Off You .- so preictable. I love the song, but I bet they don't do it justice. It's up tempo and they sound so drab. Might be OK but I won't bet my house on it.
Hope - Hanky Panky - Easy Sleazy - is that Madonna, no idea what Easy Sleazy is. How awful though, pick song that requires limited singing ability and get them to do some slapper dancing and away they go. I bet everyone will love it. I knwo I won't! :D I reckon they are getting the dirty old man vote, adn Simon - please put your ++++ away and stop leching over them.
Leon - Fly Me To The Moon. Oh Yeeeeees! Love the song, great choice for his voice. Won't eb as good as Frankie but who is?
Niki - All That Jazz .- hmmmm .... not sure. Bold choice, she is no Liza Minelli but with her ability to use her voice well on anything she should cope, but I do feel a tad concerned.
Rhydian - Get The Party Started. _ well that is a surprize. I reckon he'll do a dazzling stage perfromance, I do hope the song is nto a mistake though as I'd hate to see him go. He's the onyl oen worth tuning in for really.
Same Difference - Reach - is that the dreadful S-Club 7 song? Well I hate it, but they will do well on that and will cruise into teh next round. Right up their street.

He's got the most approprite song choice for his voice so he shoudl be.
I'm interested to se what Rhyd is going to do with Pink!

Not really bitching just my views.....
Andy - This Boys In Love- Don’t know where this is from….but for Andy’s sake I hope he is in love really….with the song……
Alisha - Valerie… Possibly pull it off if it is the same Valerie with Amy winehouse...but Amy's voice is what kills it so..will be a hard try...
Bev - Feeling Good… if it’s the same song by Michael Buble..and Nina Simone  …then she knows she has to be on the money from the get go…or else..these jazzy numbers a little bit off and the song goes down the drain.. but Bev…..might just do it… :)
Emily - Oh So Quiet – Why would you try this…….there are some artists that you shouldn’t try to imitate…..Bjork, Beck..etc..these people sing on the margins of genius or infantile delusions depending on where you stand..
FutureProof - Cant Take My Eyes Off You … I don’t know if this is the same one by  lauryn hill or something from high school musical soundtrack… so I’ll reserve my views….
Hope - Hanky Panky - Easy Sleazy – well it is quite adventurous.. so where it goes I don’t know…you’ll need some strong personality to also carry it forward…
Leon - Fly Me To The Moon – :ok: Great song…big band should make it sound better…hope it is pulled off well…… it will be terrible if it went all funny.. looks good for this....
Niki - All That Jazz - well it was great on Chicago the musical so I hope Niki does it some justice…… :)
Rhydian - Get The Party Started- I’m not sure when this became big band music but if it is Pink’s song….hmmm… well I guess its only Rhydian who can pull this off…. ...risky....no?
Same Difference – Reach…Don’t know if it is S-club 7 reach…or Gloria Estefan’s reach for the 1994 Olympics…but either way……..not sure…I think in this case Gloria Estefan's song is better....but hey...I don't make the choices

Pebs - November 1, 2007 09:51 PM (GMT)

Yep, we did well to get that story up as it happened. Great CC b*tches or what? :D
WimbledonAce - November 4, 2007 01:42 PM (GMT)
Well, what do we all think then?!
Was quite pleased with the bottom 2 result - both the fake groups down there, hehe have some of that Simon! Would rather that Hope(less) had gone but I'm not too fussed. Futureproof were pretty shite and they are never going to make it anyway. They look odd especially with the two 10 year olds! Not sure why Simon persists with making the girls look and sing like prostitutes, it clearly isn't pleasing the public. Not very good taste either considering their ages!
Thought Andy was on borrowed time again, looks cute but he will be off soon. Glad he stayed though to leave Dannii as last judge with all her peeps. I still think she is pretty spot on with her comments.
Leon - He did ok, some of it sounded out of tune to me though. Glad he finally got some praise though.
Same Difference - Yeah ok we know what they are about! Think we have the McDonalds on our hands again. At least they were an actual group though not like the fakes.
Alisha - Think it was the best performance from her and of course we knew she would stay anyway. Keep Shazza quiet (by the way I spotted someone buying her book in Tesco - can you believe people actually waste their lives reading about hers?!!!!) Don't like the girl mind, something about her that grates.
Beverley - Loved it, improving all the time! Really nice lady.
Nikki - Great stuff again, lets not milk the dinner lady thing though, we all have to earn a crust.
And saving the best to last - RHYDIAN!!!! Fab as always, loved it. Totally different performance from him but he worked it. I love this guy!
Lex - November 4, 2007 02:01 PM (GMT)
y'know, that Andy guy with the funny hair and eyes really gets on my tits, I'd have cheerfully seen him go this week.
My problem with X Factor is that it seems to be a contest between the judges first and a talent show second. Because of that, I felt that having the 2 groups as the bottom two was a bit of a fix! Especially as they announced Aliysha first....
... no particular order?
Yeah....
....right....
I wish the girl-boy group girl would dress a little more like she does in the the promo shots and not as a 1950's US girl next door. After saying that, they do make me smile cos they're obvioulsy loving what they're doing!
After saying that, I absolutely love Rhydian - he's head and shoulders above the rest, his song last night was soooo OTT it was brilliant

With you all the way there WA,
I thought Nikki's song didn't show her off particularly well, the song required acting rather than feeling the song-but she has a great voice and pulled it off well.
It's interesting regarding Rhydian who much people have changed towards him, he seems to be getting more and more popular as the weeks go on. I think he needs to do something less camp next time or he could find himself as a kind of 'chiko' character' someone who people like but don't take too seriously.
I still don't understand most of the song choices though, they have a big band on and hardly take advantage of that fact-no soft jazz or standards to let the good voices shine through.
Lex - November 4, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
why is Louis Walsh such a prick?
styeffo - November 4, 2007 06:13 PM (GMT)
Just looked on Youtube at the original Pop Idol contestants, you can see the standards have dropped HUGELY!!!
Mo aka Mz O'Hara - November 5, 2007 09:59 AM (GMT)
Have to say I must be one of the few people who enjoyed Futureproof on Sat. Thought they were far better than the girls vocally, and was peed off to see them go.
Faves this week for me were Leon, Andy and Beverley. Thought Niki was ok, but song didn't suite her voice so much...but Simon was over critical.
Didn't like Ryd this week, but then I can't stand that song so that didn't help  Everyone else for me where so so and don't get me started on Same Difference :yikes: :yikes: They are just plain wrong in my book
Louis is sooo getting on my nerves with some of his inane comments. He does need to go out to pasture. My fave judge overall so far this year has been Danni.
