I thought Brenda was great too. Had great vocal range, and had probably the best personality we've seen in the X-Factor to date. Should've been in the final, not sob-story Andy with his binman hero tale- blah

You b*tch dl :D I liked Andy but he was limited and nowhere near as good as Brenda. The real villain of that year was the winner, the boring personality-devoid potato head, Shane ......

:o say it like you see it won't you SB ;)

Haven't got round to watching Strictly yet, but I do know who were in the bottom 2 and who went home.. :o :o :o

I saw a clip this morning of Kate being 'thrown around the dancefloor by her partner' Bless her, as least she's trying and I do wish the judges wouldn't take it so dammed seriously as most of them are novices when it comes to dancing.....its for charity remember so all competetors are worth a   :clap Its like facing the lions den when Arlene gets a grip of your throat. :nope: :nope:

Mo I disagree. Garraway is a bloody disgrace and she is certainly not trying! More to the point she is an egotistical wench who has gone on the show purely to raise her own profile. I can not stand the woman and I can not understand who would waste their money voting for her!!! I'm not even a big strictly fan but it irritates me that 2 people who were fantastic and put in 100% were in the bottom 2. She should be ashamed to still be there. I almost choked on my breakfast this morning when I saw her smug face on GM - get her out!!!!!

I have now watched the show last night. and do think that Kate should have been in the bottom two. I dispute she is not trying though...some people just can't dance....I'm probably one of them :o Don't get me wrong, I think it is such a shame that two far better performers and possible finalists were in the bottom two, but we have to blame it on the crazy viewers voting for their fave personality and not for who they believe to be the better performer. Also the English like an underdog (and also seeing someone make a t*t of themselves on national tv) so will vote for them. A very similar thing happened in an early series with a young actor from Eastenders who was appallingly bad at dancing but he made the semi final if not the final. :nope: at the cost of many a better dancer that series.

Don't you think the standard is now too high though? Kate woudl not have looked stupid years back - that Kaplinsky monster who won it frst wasn't that good. The routines are realyl demanding, and for an amateur she does well, they all do. But after all was said and done, Gabby shoudl nto have gone. I think th ejudges made a mistake there. Mrs Rod Stewart might have great legs but she showed last week that she is not very versatile, her jive wasn't good. Gabby i smore versatile and fun to watch IMO. Poor Gabby :( I'd say that maybe her husband - is that big bloke her bubby? - shoudl have gone nto her! They shoudl swap places :D

SuperBRAT - October 30, 2007 01:09 PM (GMT)
Strictly Come Dancing is now on every Saturday night on BBC1 with results on Sundays. Celebrities battle it out on the dancelfoor to progress to the next round. Soif you are sold on Samba, chuffed with the Cha-Cha Cha or want to quibble about that Quickstep or pillory that Pasa Doble that you saw do it here. Pardon the puns please, that cringeowrthy host Bruce Forsyth has gotten to me. :D

So far we've lost Stephanie Beecham, Brain Capron, Willie Thorne and Gabby Logan. Gabby's exit was quite scadalous as she was clearly not the worst dancer but that is what happens when the public vote. I thought Gabby was great, very versatile and could only get better. I wished they'd saved her rather than Penny (Penny was good but not as good as Gabby all round IMO).

Feel free to start any other threads or polls or whatever you please. :)

Absolutely the standard is much higher this year, particularly with the women from the very fist week.

Kenny Logan is Gab's hubby (I think) He has apparently already called the BBC to ask if his wife could be reinstated in his place..they said no. I thought out of the bottom two that Penny should have gone because I preferred Gabby's routine. of course when they start talking about footwork technically, most of the time I wouldn't have a clue if they had preformed well or not. There has been a fair bit in the press about Penny and Gab's in particular being too competitve, and that could have gone against them during voting. Do you know you can vote all week for the following weekend's winner :o How B****y stupid is that.

WimbledonAce - October 30, 2007 08:39 PM (GMT)
Does anyone else watch It takes 2 - not sure if its called that, the strictly spin off on beeb2 every day? They have really milked the controversy from the weekend! You would think someone had died! It is noticeable thought that the dastardly Kate "Garralous" Garraway never appears on the show. I suspect she is pretty disliked.

Well that is really bad! Folk will just keep voting for thier faves. How greedy of the BBC taking that phonecall money too

As you said before Gabby's routine was better. I really enjoyed it, it was true to the dance and fun. Penny's was barely recognisable as a Samba or whatever ti was. I think her ginnick blinded the judges. She will get a dance that doesn't suit her again and be terrible, Gabby was more versatile I thought. Well if it carries on as it is, I will stop watching tbh, as most of the dancers that have gone are better than some of those that are in. I liked Stephanie Beacham in week one, but she was in the botton 2 with Letitia, I liked both. I think more fo the men shoudl have gone by now, shame they had women only, and certainyl nto Willie either..

I know, i heard that and yes, it was wrong BUT they allow the bloody show to be judged and voted for a it is so it is the show's fault. They need to review th epolicy if they are going to moan so much.

I think the audience fo Strictly is different form X-factor. I knwo they make mistakes on x-factor, but if someone is really bad as a singer, they generally go (I think  ). And I think it's easier to spot a good singer for most than a good ballroom dancer. On the dancing though, I reckon a lot of people see it as a laugh and want to keep terribel people in. Bad singing is funny too, but generally bad dancing is more likely to be funny I think. I certainyl canlaugh at bad dancers almost every time but bad singers - no! Tey kill my ears.

Though I didn't want her to be in the bottom 2 I can't say I'll miss Gabby. I much preferred Penny's dance because it was different and fun - it really invoked the carnival mood the Samba is supposed to have while for me Gabby always looks a little too cold & calculating. She dance's well but leaves me unmoved.

Kate & Kenny really need to go though - I can't understand why anyone would vote to keep them in. For me the best bit of Strictly is from week 6 or so onwards when the good dancers really start to get the hang of it and give us some incredible dances. Kate & Kenny are just never going to get to that level (they're getting worse if anything).

I know people are saying that they are voting for them in order to watch them improve rather than for the dancers that started really good (Zoe Ball seemed to suffer from this) but no one seemed to care when Natasha, Jill & Mark won and they were pretty much the best dancers from beginning to end.

As usual the 'Great British public' have got it wrong again.

I disagree re: Gabby. I thought she was fun and put more into it than Penny. Penny was quite good on week one, but terrible on week 2 with that 'lazy legged" jive. I see what you mean re: their dance but Gabby's choereography was truer to the Samba than Penny's which IMO was more like go-go dancing in Carnaby Street in the 60s than a Latin Carnival. It was good, but a tad overrated IMO. And if she didn't have such long legs and the boots and the 60s gimmick I doubt she'd have stayed tbh. Still did nto expect her and Gabby in bottom 2, even with our mad public. I don't vote on that show, but if I did I woudl most likely have voted for someone wh was not the favourite but still good to give them a chance. Maybe others did the same. I woudl tno have voted to keep the poor dancers in mind.

Mo aka Mz O'Hara - November 5, 2007 11:29 AM (GMT)
I think the right decision was made on Saturday with Dom going. :) would have put him in the bottom 2 with Kenny though and not JB.

My faves this week were Matt Alisha and Leitia, hasn't she improved. Was so pleased for her. Thats my fave thing about this prog, seeing the improvements in people when they are 'so so' in the first few weeks. And yes there was even some improvement amazingly in Kate. I think for her to improve vastly, she would probably need to train 24/7 for th next 3 months. so can't see her going much further.

GS2 - November 5, 2007 11:33 AM (GMT)
Letitia has really improved - I thought hers was the best dance to watch on Saturday - the judges raved and poured on praise and then the scores were the same as last week!

From what they were saying I thought she was going to get a mix of 8's & 9's not one 7 and three 8's!

Glad to see the back of Dom though getting tired of Kenny surviving week after week even if he and his kilt were nice to watch on Saturday night - just shame about the dance!

:o have to say the kilt did nothing for me on the night, especially when it flew up and revealed what looked like BIG white pants :yikes: Not a good look. Wasn't Len in a grumpy mood. If you have watched several of the shows like I have, you can't help but notice, but some evenings he appears to be in such a grumpy mood that very little pleases him. Thought he was over aggressive to Kelly Brook regarding the cape :nope: not necessary Len, its good to be creative and try to bring new dimensions to the dance, even Craig thought so. :)

I haven't seen it yet so I'm nto gonna look at the posts until I knwo who is voted off. :)

SuperBRAT - November 7, 2007 04:22 PM (GMT)
I finally watched it last night. I was VERY sad that Dom left - he was fun and IMO a godo mover. His Paso Doble was the onyl oen where they ried to dance anything lik ethe Paso Doble  I thought he pulled some good moves, uses his legs well. Yes he might have looked a tad stiff, but it's a hard dance and you have to dance ti stiff with a serious face so he did as well as anyoen else. John Barnes keeps chosing the easier dances, he got offf lightly, nowt special at all. And there was not enough rise and fall in his Foxtrot. I'd have kept Dominic, he put smore into it and brings more entertainment to the show. Poor Dom :(

Lex - November 7, 2007 04:36 PM (GMT)
yeah, I'd have liked to see Dom stay in.

GO ALISHA

she is brilliant

(nothing to do with the fact she's gorgeous too   )

Kelly and Brendon might just get tooo naughty for the poor judges

:lmaao:

SuperBRAT - November 7, 2007 04:36 PM (GMT)
Oh, I forgot the others -

Alesha - good dancer, elegant , but not that challenging. I think she and also kelly and Mrs Rod Stewart are fooling folks into thinking they are better than they are just cos they are tall and thin and so look more the part. I also find it unfair Alesha is in becuase she has afterall had a stage career already that involved dancing.

Penny - same as Alesha really, except she did nto stride out with those legs much. She does indeed have lazy legs. Quite a nice lady - not big headed as I expected.

Kelly - oh lordie! I can't stand her, she's childish and cocky when they criticise her and she cheated last week. Don't care if she is good at times, get rid please!

Letitia - love her, a big fan of her on and off screen, she's a diamond. :D So really glad to see her progressing well and gaining confidence. Really gave her all, was a bit camp to me but great stuff. And Lovely dress, that tourquiose was fab! Kelyl could learn some class from her. :D

Kate - looked fine to me, quite an improvement but I don't see her ever getting Latin rhythym . Feel sorry for her, not her fault she is still in and shin splints are bloody painful. .

Kenny - well he's not a smooth mover, but he did have the masculinity and drama as Paso Doble demands. I was highly amused with the Bravehaeart thing going on and that glittery kilt. It was entertaining but he gave us an eyeful when his skirt went up, Bruno was excited! :D

John Barnes - not sure; he can dance but saw nothing majorly special in that Foxtrot. Not enough rise and fall.

Matt - he's my fave now, his jive and American smooth were great. This was good but not as good as I hoped; not enough masculinty, passion and drama but he's got good feet..

Gethin - I just don't Get-him! He's fine but I think he's been lucky to sneak through in the past. He lacks personality and attitude and is quite forgettable.

I want to see Letitia and Matt win. :ok: I'd have liked Dominic to stand a chance too. And I so wish Gabby had stayed. :(

My best firend likes him too, it's nto that he is a total sex god but he has a great personality and smile and he's very warm and funny. I love Saturday Kitchen - it's so much better with him than the useless chef Anthony Worral Thompson. He is th efunniest most down to earth chef on TV :D

I doubt Penny will be havign an affair, have you noticed how Rod is always at rehearsals? He must be twice her age. And half her height cos I stodd behind him in a hotel once and beleive me, he onyl came up to my shoulder and he had cuban heels on! Very tiny man.

And btw I wish Letitia had bought her on screen step borther and lover who played Denis Rickman in Eastenders with her - he's bloody gorgeous!

     now Nigel Harman is seriously hot....and he's all mine. I fancy James Martin a bit, but would fancy him a whole lot more if he was slimmer, think it would suit him better. Love to see Sat Kitchen if I'm not out shopping but can't stand AWThompson....has James Martin left for good then ?

I fancy Matt from EE . Don't fancy his character in EE but soooo fancy him in SCD,he's just so dammed cute and seems like a lot of fun, and makes me laugh....I love that in a man...hard to find though. Someone in the know has said that Matt & Flavia are the couple to look at for possible hanky panky, not Brendan and Kelly, she is far too loved up with Billy Zane, thought I don't doubt for one sec that Brendan would like too. B) I like Kelly, I think she is fun, although yes a bit too giggly at times, but hey whats the harm in that.

PS there is a piccy of Andy from X Factor topless in the D Mirror today.....His torso looks dammed fine.

Oh yes Nigel Harman .... coudln't think of his name. Hot indeed. I though the was al mine, well that's what eh said last time we had sex ;)

James is still on Saturday Kitchen, it used to be AWT (or TWAT as he should be called, can't cook to save his life form what i see, his food looks crap! :yikes: ) I like James Martin as he is, I don't want him looking starved off to a shadow and you gotta have something to grab hold of while he serves up his appetiser! :D

Matt Di Angelo - yeah he's good looking, but he's not someone I'd go mad about. I'd prefer that actor who plays Shaun off Eastenders myself. he's funny, even though eh is a bit of a b*stard but the character seems to have serious issues going on at the moment. I don't know his name actually. Do you know? You seem very up on thsi stuff. :)

Crickey, I thought you meant Sean from Corrie at first. :o :o

Sean in Eastenders is Robert Kazinsky. Yep not bad looking, although his acting is a bit suspect at times IMO  Rumour has it, he will end up with Tanya at Xmas.

Mo aka Mz O'Hara - November 8, 2007 02:51 PM (GMT)
PS. I think his mum in the show is fabulous in that part, a real scene stealer. I hope she comes to live in the square, that'd shake them up a bit.

Well he's a dangerous character, but Tanya cannot do worse than that vile Max. I don't get his appeal. Personality, sex appeal, charm adn looks are all missing for me. I just want to see him get screwed over cos I hate him! :D

Yeah I like her too. Good actress with a challenging part. :ok:

I knwo what you mea with Sean though - the acting isn't always bang on but he's got charisma and he can be quite funny, although he's such a b8itch! I like dit when eh was gonna smack Max with that broken champers bottle. :D

:argh: :argh: what the heck is going on with the voting public.....Matt, I say MATT in the bottom two :yikes: has the world gone completely crazy. My patience is now stretched......Kate should have been in the bottom two FACT...with Kenny or Letitia (Sorry Letitia) and yes I did vote this week.

Relieved that Matt stayed, would have been a travesty if he hadn't as I think there is further improvement to come and he could make the final. Penny was a bit lumpy again this week, she does lack grace sometimes so out of the two the right decision was made.

Fave performances of the night were, Kelly, Gethin and Matt. I think I was the only viewer who didn't enjoy John Barns at all - the routine didn't grab me :nope:

I know Alisha is great, but there is something about her that makes me not like her too much.
