It says quite a bit about the start of his year that, if he wins this tomorrow, then he will get back into serious contention for a Shanghai place. However, I think he's in quite a tough part of the draw in Paris; he'll probably have to face Basel finalist Nieminen in his first match, and then needs to take out Djoko before he even reaches the quarters! Gasquet and Blake as likely QF opponents will also be gunning for Shanghai points.
