To be fair, venus hit a winner on matchpoint ;) And in that 6-5 game, she put all her first serves in and Venus hit like 3 winners..........

Yes the Aussie Open final was  :(

I know but Lindsay should have drilled that backhand crosscourt for a winner.
Instead she hit it right into Venis' hitting zone in the mid court...

I actually remember that point and the one that preceeded it.She served a double fault to set up match point for Lindsay and in that drama situation the crowd went Ermmmmm ooooooooh Like a dramatic moment in a movie.

I then was so tensed up watching the next point and my eyes actually saw it in slow motion how she hit that winner. She went for it,it was pure adrenalin from her given the fact it was the high part of the net and we all know the errors she is capable of.*look at the last point of the match against Henin this years US OPEN*

Isn't that what makes a great player though? Having the balls to make those shots on big points? Lindsay didn't win it because she didn't risk whereas Venus did win it because she risked. So that's why Venus deserved that victory and Lindsay didn't.

:ok:

Thats what seperate the men from the mice.Venus had the courage of her convictions and the belief that she was going to hit that winner and went for it and it paid off.. It reminded me of Steffi. We very seldom saw Graf play tentitive tennis on any point.

I think its fair to say Lindsay is a choker!

I wouldn't go that far!!!

I just think on the point mentioned above she didn't risk as much as Venus. Venus wanted it just that little bit more so was prepared to risk it just that little bit more.

But Gav on evidence presented. She played in all Grand Slam Finals after her Aussie Open win against a Williams girl and had chances to win but choked.US Open 2000, she lead in that First set 4-1 double break.HAd the advantage in the second set as well.Aussie Open 2005,Lead by a set and had so many break chances in that 7 game I think but didnt convert and fell completely off the rails.

She only never choked against Hingis but on the hole she is a choker but also a great champion and I love her thats for sure! :ok:
