Well nowadyas they probably would. I used to go to Rock City, The Garage, The Cookie Club and the Barracuda plus another I cannto recall. They were all good as the alternative places adn you did tno get the riff raff. But that was in the late 80s and up to mid 90s things have changed sadly.

but don't drink too much remember at your age the brain cells are already dying rapidly, signs of age are showing, senility is creeping up on you, and your well into an inevitable decline into infirmity and old age and then death -followed by an eternity of black oblivion-the negation existence itself , anyway enjoy! :)

rock city is shite now - turned in to such a crappy student club. Cookie isn't bad - i still like going there :ok:

Yep, Rock City was great from 80s to about 10 yrs back, two clubs in one, great range of stuff. But in the early noughites it got commercial. Thye've now opened this awful part of it called the Rig to keep costs and space low for thos ewho prefer non commercial stuff and my mate, is and me hate it. now. My mate said it had lost it when she saw girls in white stlletos and leggings being let in. :rolleyes: Oh lord, it was all set up to avoid that! My sis says Cookie is nto as good as it was though, it was Ok a few years back but haven' been lately . Tehn again that place was one of those that opened late ron for non commercial tastes. It was awful for a while, did tno meet fire and safety regs and the loos - well just don't look! Refurbed now mind I think.

i haven';t been there in ages. last time i went they were playing beyonce in the main room - which is definitely NOT rock! :angry: the Rig used to be ok some nights - it was pretty good for proper old rock, but that's gone shite now. I've been to Cookie a few times - it's less rock and more indie now, but it's still not too bad. but i prefer going to dance clubs, and they're further outside town.

Manchester is cool for the odd night out but it gets a bit samey, especially on the gay scene there which i really dont like.
