Title: Serena doesn't know how to lose graciously!

Sam - September 5, 2007 10:53 AM (GMT)
On seeing the press conference just now thanks to QJ's link. I think her whole attitude, both to the press and more importantly to Justines game, was a total disgrace yet again. They weren't vicious questions fired at her, just honest ones.

She is not a great if she doesn't learn any respect in my opinion. Just plain ignorant. Henin decisively beat her yet again yet she refuses to accept that on the night she was beaten by a better player who was largely in control throughout.

SW19 started a thread at the start of this tournament saying that he thought it was terrible that someone like Fed didn't know a lot about Althea Gibson. in fact Serena poured a little fuel on that fire.
Well maybe Serena ought to take a look in the mirror at her own lack of manners and respect. that's far worse than Fed not knowing a fact.

Well done Justine

I know the Serena thing has been discussed on other threads, where I've commented in agreement with what you've said here, but i never saw this thread before and I think that the last line is an excellent point. :ok: Surprised that no one else commented. But anyway, yes her actions were deliberately disrepsectful and inexcusable whereas Federer's were not, he was just ignorant of the facts. :)

Well they paint this picture of the two of them having so much respect for each other in the press, I have no idea if it's true though. What do folks think?

Well I haven't looked at my PM's because I didn't get a notification - e-mail up the spout. I don't ever look at my inbox unless I'm informed. I've been on other websites and I just came back and saw your response, so I replied.

If I would have seen your apology do you honestly think I would have posted that message?

Anyway, now I know what you think of me, there's nothing left to say.

Why not ask if I've seen the PM first before reacting?

i do forgive, i wasnt cheated out of a grand slam title though.

The same thing was discussed in the thread by FedererWilliams about that match and it is of my opinion that Justine was the deserved winner of it easily. If Serena hadn't let the incident get to her and instead played her best tennis and won, then she would have been a deserved winner.

If she was cheated out of the title, it was her (or Justine's high quality of play) who cheated herself out of it.

Ahhh ok I see!

Well I think Serena has issues with Justine because Justine is number 1 and playing fantastic tennis and Serena is frustrated as she wishes her tennis was better than it is (like it used to be) and would like to be number 1 again. And Justine has taken away her opportunity to help with that three times this year already. That must be tough to take if you think you are the best (which is the attitude she seems to have).

yes thats true. It will be interesting to see what Venus will say if she loses toight. And Serena will do well to refuse any interviews if that happens
