Title: US Open 3 September: Day 8
Description: Any more upsets in store?

Scotsguy - September 3, 2007 03:09 PM (GMT)
Kuzzy vs Azarenka and Szavay vs Vakulenko have just begun.

MrInvisible - September 3, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
Kuznetsova up 5-0 already - and look how the draw has opened up for her in that half - I'd be v surprised if she doesn't make the final now (or do people think Chakvetadze is more the one to watch in that half?)

Buttercup - September 3, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
Davai Sveta!!!!!! :D :D :D

Scotsguy - September 3, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
Azarenka lost the forst set 6-2 but is a break up in the second serving at 2-1

Meanwhile Szavay won the opening set 6-4.

Queen Justine - September 3, 2007 04:08 PM (GMT)
:angry3: C'MON KUZZY

liam_valid - September 3, 2007 04:23 PM (GMT)
well, that was the worst match i have seen since the Hingis vs Clijsters comedy of errors at the AO

Scotsguy - September 3, 2007 04:28 PM (GMT)
Watching Vakulenko vs Szavay, you can see why so much noise is being made about this girl (agnes that is...) she hits a great backhand and her movement is solid, her serve has a wondeful motion as well. However her forehand is a worry, if you push the ball deep onto it the error is often forthcoming. She takes a very large back swing which means her timing has to be right on or it will cause quite a back mishit..

Scotsguy - September 3, 2007 05:18 PM (GMT)
:D Radwanska breaks immediately, *2-0

Come on Aga!!

Queen Justine - September 3, 2007 05:59 PM (GMT)
KADIMA SHAHAR KADIMA :angry3:

Aga .. bless ... you must be so tired

9mmSuzi - September 3, 2007 06:54 PM (GMT)
:) yeah.. good win for shahar peer..but kutzy will be tougher..

dl04 - September 3, 2007 08:06 PM (GMT)
Shahar was so impressive today. Just so solid and very few unforced errors. Her backhand today was just  The technique is so superb, with the racquet right out in the front and the bodyweight going through. Just fantasic :ok:

Aga :( Had a bit of an emotional let-down after her sterling win over Maria. Should not be downhearted though, has had a fantastic Open

I thought Vaidisova or Hingis might have got through, but Hingis in particulary was just swept aside :(

I think either Peer or Szavay will make it. Shame Aga couldnt go further :(

Can't wait for Serena-Justine :D

Serena's form has been iffy so far though, she needs to recapture her Australia form, otherwise JH will win pretty quick

It's very rare Venus plays better in the opening rounds than Serena

Noooo, Chakvetadze is gonna win  I would love that.

If not Serena (who incidentally is the only non eastern-european player i support, no reason for it, it just is)

Little Paszek has really got game .. 1st time on AA Evening and she's giving Chaky a good game so far  Bless :) No sign of nerves at all. Looks like it might be a good match.

Chaky is soooooooo much like Mary Pierce. She's really matured in these last few months don't ya think?

I want to see Serena win, but I also would love to see Justine-Venus since they haven't played in AGES, I don't know what to think
