Has anyone seen this film? It really is one of the most enchanting films i've ever seen. The plot is so magical and the cast is superb.

It came out in 2003, and i've watched it many times on DVD, but i recently just watched it and it was just brilliant all over again :D

Anyone else seen this genius Tim burton film?

I'm not a fan of action films tbh. I here it's very good, but i doubt i'd like it.

Sometimes actions films get away with very thin plots............

I wholeheartedly agree with you on that mate. It happens way too much in films generally now, quality interesting plots are sacrificed for cheap technological gimmicks for people with short attention spans. Do you ever find yourself in a cinema full of people thinking "I wonder how many of them actually have a clue whats going on?" roflmao

Bourne Ultimatum was certificated 12A - that is criminal IMHO

Big Fish is one of my favourite films of all time. Nice taste DL.

I cry watching the end part of it each time as it reminds the main character reminds me of my late father. Very adventurous chap with stories to tell. Great film.

I loved the surreal look of the film, but I never understood why everyone cried at ending...It is indeed very poignant but it didn't really touch me to the point of crying. Same thing goes to Forrest Gump.

The only time I ever cried in a film was when Amos Diggory is crying hysterically over his dead son's body. Very touching.

I think it depends on your personal experiencees and how old you are. I don't think I ever cried at a film until I got into my late teens. By then I had lost all my grandparents and it's certain things in films that may trigger off a response from an emotional conncection or incident you have had in your own life. For me, Big Fish and especially the scenes going into the lake show a father/son relationship that reminds me of mine with my late father.

I think it very much depends on your outlook.

I liked Big Fish, i like Tim Burton films too, but he always fails to make a classic to my mind. There's something missing from his films-they're always visually idiosyncratic-often dark, but somehow i find they don't build in quite the way i want them too.
I find them emotionally flat.
Big Fish is more of an exception to this, but given the story and the underlying presence of the father and friends in the life of the main character-it still only partially delivers.
I do have an idea that Burton is far more concerned with the style and structure of scenes rather than communicating and connecting in an emotionally profound way with the audience.

Ah, I understand.
I think that I did cry though in an episode of "Arthur" when I was 6 or 7 or 8 - when Arthur decided to lose purposely in a certain game show. Lol.
