Title: Henman vs. Federer - BELIEVE IT CAN HAPPEN!!!
Description: Let's get some positive energy going!

sir matchstickmen - June 28, 2006 07:31 AM (GMT)
Now i'm not trying to be Uri Geller here or anything (I won't put an orange spot on your TV screens), but come on, we MUST believe Tim can pull this off today! :D

Centre court needs to be a lions den, Tim needs a good start, and we could have a long afternoon. Fed (albeit much younger) fell apart under this five years ago, we've got to believe it can happen again!!!

ark_28 - June 28, 2006 07:39 AM (GMT)
I just cant see iy, 5 years ago Fed had just had the win of his life against Pete was always a tough ask to back it up and even his match with Henman ws farely tight it went to a 4th set breaker and could have gone to a 5th,now Federer is comfortbale being a legend of the game, as long as he plays to his best like he did yesterday he will win 3-0

sir matchstickmen - June 28, 2006 07:42 AM (GMT)
As I said - BELIEVE!!!

I do believe in realistic terms that he will get a set off Federer - if it's the first one then game on!

ark_28 - June 28, 2006 07:51 AM (GMT)
I think Federer will win 3 tight sets to 0 or if he is slightly of his game he will win in 4 sets.

Your cynicism isn't going to stop this rush of positive energy... :D

Anyway you're a yank!

Yeah Hewitt has been Andys nemeisis for the longest while BUT Andy has won his last match with Hewitt and their only match on Grass Andy won!

However that wouldnt be till the Quataers!! Andy hasnt even played his 1st round yet! so im taking one match at a time!

Hi Sam I want to believe I really do. I feel that if Tim plays well and I do mean the top of his game then I see it going to four sets with Fed winning. If they are both a bit tense out there, then I see it going to Fed in 3 tights sets, poss tiebreaks. If Tim could take the 1st set then it could do wonders for his confidence and the crowd would surely go mad.

If Tim doesn't get the serve going well then I fear it will be a sad sorry scoreline. :(

I am praying it won't be 63 62 63 to Fed. Unlikely I think and Mac agreed with me on the highlights show last night, and hey he should know. :D :D

Let the      s commence. :D

sir matchstickmen - June 28, 2006 09:35 AM (GMT)
A song for us to believe with, 'The impossible dream'! (on the new honda advert, i love the sound of it! :D)

To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go.

To right the unrightable wrong
To be better far than you are
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest, to follow that star,
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far
To be willing to give when there’s no more to give
To be willing to die so that honor and justice may live

And I know if I’ll only be true to this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I’m laid to my rest

And the world will be better for this
That one man scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star.

SuperBRAT - June 28, 2006 11:49 AM (GMT)
Belief is everything. We all know that fed is the huge favourite and the most outstanding at the moment of the two, but if Tim doesn't BELIEVE then he has no chance whatsoever, like Gasquet who clearly had no belief. So anyway, I will jopin you on this thread and BELIEVE! :D

Hi SB Hope you are feeling better today. Still no word from HH.

Popped back here to look for some Pimms to try and calm my already frayed nerves and to help me BELIEVE. :D

I have a bottle of Pimms, we have had it about 2 years and no one has ever felt the need to drink any! The onyl time I drank any was in the back of a cab with a french girl on my way from Chiswick to London. It was warm and neat and not very nice, but it passed the time and we were drunk before we arrived so saved money on drinks! roflmao

I've just seen that Clijsters has a walkover, so Tim will be on after Nalbandian has finished - he's 2 sets up, and 1-1 in the third.

You won't be pleased to know that Nalby has just broken for 2-1 then :(

Perhaps you're starting to get a migraine??;)

Finished all the exam board meetings now, so have a bit more time to concentrate on the important matters like Wimbledon, World Cup etc etc.

I'd have that 6th ginger snap if I were you. I'm sure you burn huge numbers of calories when you're nervous. And they are tastier than fingernails :D

I reckon Tim will play an ace first set, but will still go down something like 76, 64, 62 :(
Fed demolished Gasquet yesterday, so I'm afraid he'll just be too much for Tim.
