A couple of Nadal:
when asked about his knee problems:
Q. Do you know what is the problem?
RAFAEL NADAL: Yeah, sure. I have a tendon.
(and yes, there is another bit of that answer, but it just made me :giggle: )
Q. Were you practicing here when you felt the pain? Where were you practicing when you felt the pain?
RAFAEL NADAL: Three days ago, I was practicing with Murray on center court.
Murray is passing his injury curse on to other players now :yikes:

US Open quotes from the beeb.....
"I was just not doing anything at all. Every ball I hit, I hit it with the frame, the handle, somewhere out. Forehand. Didn't serve well. This was it."
Svetlana Kuznetsova admits that she was not exactly on top form in her semi-final against Anna Chakvetadze. "I just played horrible."
Chakvetadze is equally dismissive of her own efforts. "I'm okay, I was just feeling dizzy, a little sick to the stomach and having some energy problems."
Venus Williams gives her explanation for defeat by Justine Henin. "I don't care about that. I saw the doctor too and I could say I wasn't 100% but I was fighting and she was doing the same."
The sympathy is hardly overflowing from Henin. "She has been sick all week. She was staying in her room all the time. She wasn't going out. I had to go and get her juice."
Oracene Price on her daughter's health problems. "They both have a lot of personality and a lot of character and they are both great champions. I can admit that and it is tough to play against them."
Henin is the first player since Martina Hingis to beat both Williams sisters at the same Grand Slam. And one from Justines interview......
Q. She called a trainer. Later we found out it was because of dizziness. She also said afterwards that she was not a hundred percent.
JUSTINE HENIN: I'm surprised (smiling).
