The Draw is out!

#1 seeds Black and Huber should breeze through the first few rounds but could have a few tough matches with Peschke/Stubbs and Srebotnik/Sugiyama lurking in later rounds. Other pairings in that half include Hingis/Hantuchova, Peer/Garbin and Dechy/Safina.

#2 seeds Raymond and Stosur could have a difficult 2nd round match against Dementieva/Pannetta and have the prospect of facing the #5 seeds from Chinese Taipei and Molik/Santangelo as the draw moves to the business end. But having not played together since Wimbledon how will the Stosur/Raymond fare?

although the ladies match of note today on the doulbes side has to be peer/garbin v. petrova/vaidisova. should be quite an unconventional doubles match :D

Sugi and Srebotnik are through to the QF in straight sets, they are looking like potential champions as they dismissed the number 15 seeds Loit/King with ease (6-3, 6-2). Also in the QF are the unseeded pairing of Stefanie Foretz and Yaroslava Shvedova. They ousted Morigami/Tu for the loss of just 3 games.

oh Martina. she didn't make the second week of the Open in anything :( :( :( :( :(

Well done to Dechy and Safina to reach the finals again in 2007, but this time together. Like Dechy's game and fondly remember her SF clash with the mighty Lindsay Daveport at the AUS Open in 2005. Good luck to her and Safina!

I second that! Actually, I was supporting Stubbs and Peschke in the semi but now that they're out I hope their conquerors go all the way!
