3 Richard Kraijcek-Another Sampras Clone Boom Boom Boom Boom game!
4 Thomas Muster-Virtually lived on clay the whole year round
5 Jonas Bjorkman-I just didnt get him in singles....EVER!

Wise_Analyst - August 20, 2007 04:11 PM (GMT)
In no particular order:
Federer - overrated, boring baseliner with god-awful dress sense.
Ljubicic - useless, mundane waste of space.
Davydenko - weaponless, choking cheat.
Blake - spineless, sycophantic muppet.
Robredo -
Dishonourable mention also for Hewitt (for ruining Henman's Wimbledon chances and generally being a tit), who has since grown on me now that this current crop of spineless morons have buffooned their way into the top 10.
Tenez - August 20, 2007 04:33 PM (GMT)
I am glad we did not ask you for the "worst top 20" as the critics could only have got worse from Robredo downwards....... ;)

Nope, believe it or not I don't particularly dislike anyone else... not permanently, anyway. ;)

Tennisveritas - August 20, 2007 05:02 PM (GMT)
I will say basically only five:
1) Chang..I still searching some good reasons to explain why this guy started playing Tennis... He was basically a boring player playing the percentage game as ever..
2) Hewitt..Even if his Tennis is not so bad, I do not like his attitude, his way of behaving..It was more than welcome the day in which FED turned around the H2H and delivered some great lessons to the Aussie (main USO final 2004 ;) )
3) Pioline...He had IMO some good chances to do something and he never achieved fully..There was always some excuses..
4) Clement: this guy is shouting to the ball boys if they are not ready !!! When he is losing it is because they did not work "comme il faut"...
A pure Clown...
5) Nowadays and if I am looking back: Yes, Pete was quite boring to watch..Still he was a great champion and he achieved a lot..Moreover his attitude was so "insignificant" so "tedius":
He was just to boring even out of the court. I mean, at least with FED we have plenty of interviews and subject to discuss because the guy like talking about Tennis history:
Pete was basically writing Tennis history but still he was not able to transmit a bit of his values and of his passion..Sad..Almost at the level of some of his "fans" :D roflmao
Dinky Jo - August 20, 2007 05:05 PM (GMT)
My 5 would be:
Hewitt - it's a family rivalry thing
Davydenko - you know how easy it is to get bored of someone when they are ALWAYS around??? that's Davydenko - play less tournaments!!!!!!!
Roddick - I just don't like his attitude at all!
nalbandian - for being lazy and mean about Tim
can i say Rusedski just because he annoys me as a commentator?
Tenez - August 20, 2007 05:10 PM (GMT)
Difficult to dislike players really.
1 - Connors - Nothing new here for those read me before. A champion certainly but so overrated tennis wise. No serve, No FH. His biggest weapon? the crowd.
2 - Brad Gilbert - "Winning Ugly" best describes him
3 - Canas - I woud not trust the guy for some reasons
4 - Djokovic - some says his gamemanship time is over but wait until it gets tense.....Like against Bagdhatis at Wimbledon. I like his game though.
5 - Murray - A bit too moody, capricious and teaming with Brad does not help. I'd like to see a gracious smile on his face but I feel that before he wins Wimbledon chances are slim....so chances are really slim.
Tenez - August 20, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)

Why on earth TV do you think Pioline is an underachiever? I never liked his tennis and thought that reaching Wimbledon's and USO finals were excellent results actually and is an over-achiever more than anything in my view.
I did not like him much either....could not see much of a gracious smile on his face either.

Well, you know it is feeling..I do not know: He had this terrible attitude (that I hope and   it wil never be developed by Gasquet BTW) to be happy from losing, to spend plenty of time to build always some excuses..Nooo..The French sport media (as in plenty of other countries BTW) are already crap if moreover you behave like that..well...It was really a guy...Bof..
BTW , Tenez: I never manage to dislike fully Connors, at the contrary, I found him most of the time so funny: I do not know his ability to compensate his technical holes with the public..well it was in some sense great...But it is a pure question of taste
Tenez - August 20, 2007 05:40 PM (GMT)
I also liked Connors at the beginning. I was quite young but then saw his tactics and it really annoyed me at the end. Mostly it consisted of ridiculing the opponent by cracking a joke, helped by the fact that the guy on the other side did not have the mastery of the language, or simply the aggressive culture, to retort. Tons of players lost their edge and the match was brought down to Connors level. He really was the master of winning ugly. And apparently he was famous to be even worse in the changing room before the match. I don’t think he is very respected by the players of his generation.
As you say taste and colours......
Pebs - August 20, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
:moody: stupid computer, I just typed this once and lost it all... anyway...
1. Hewitt - he just bitch slapped Henman too much for me to ever like the guy
2. Sampras - if I were to watch him now with a slightly older, less biased eye, I could probably appreciate him but at the time he was just boooooring
3. Nalbandian - nothing against him as a player really but has to be there for his Tim comments
4. Grinning Greg - if it wasnt his throwing of his sweat soaked towel in the face of the poor ball kid, it was the endless 'at least Greg got to a final' (please read in whiny voice) that turned me off this guy
5. Best bung in Hewitt again - I cant think of anyone else right now who deserves the slot more than Hewitt having it twice :P
WimbledonAce - August 20, 2007 06:32 PM (GMT)
I can't believe some of you are so anti! I'm struggling to think of any I don't like, will have to ponder it.
And Pebs Im shocked! Poor Greg. At least he got to a final, lol!!!
As for Hewitt it's wierd but I'm getting into him. Think it's cos I see him as a bit of a veteran and there arent many left!

shame on you WA!
As for Hewitt, oh I know, I cant fault him for his game tbh - and I have always said that, but after years, and years of watching Tim lose to him, I just cant stand the thought of him winning!
sorry!
dl04 - August 20, 2007 06:42 PM (GMT)
Mine are:
1. Greg Rusedski. Useless, moaning( after wriggling oit of his drugs debacle, whined about having no WC's). Reached a GS final and expected everyone to gush after him for the rest of his career. Boring game also, with a tiresome serve and clunky volleying skills. Just an awful piece of work
2. Andy Roddick. Terrible superior attitude to his peers, even though they beat him half the time anyway. Couldnt hit a backhand winner to save his life and so one-dimensional it's painful to watch.
3. Ivan Ljubicic. Probably a nice guy really, but bores me to tears. Has this labourious game, and another boring big server. Also him claiming to be the number 2 player in the world just reeked of delusions of grandure.
4. Lleyton Hewitt. I sometimes wish slumps on him, because he just really annoys me at times. Grumpy, surly attitude, woefully disengaging with the press and his wife needs to get another job roflmao .
His game for me is a real turn off as well. You can hit winners you know Lleyton
5. Andy murray. Attidue stinks and just gets away with the most appaling on-court behaviour. Overated to the max as well. Maybe this wrist inury has given him a reality check- he sure needs one.

I agree with Ljubicic, sore loser as well, you'd think he'd be used to it
WimbledonAce - August 20, 2007 06:57 PM (GMT)
I can't believe some of you don't like A-Rod! He's so nice!
I've had a think and I'm really struggling. The only one I could come up with is Petr Korda. Really ugly fellow and then you found out his shock success was tarnished with drugs. Also the scissor kick thing really pis*ed me off!
If I had to name any more I would throw in Nalbandian and Davydenko for being pretty bland and wierd. And also Safin, I just don't get him.
SerenaW19 - August 20, 2007 06:59 PM (GMT)

Seriously I can't think of one match Ive enjoyed with him. I always see him as a bit of a waste of space.
BIG-TODGER - August 20, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
1 MURRAY permanently injured, permanently miserable, irretrievably Scottish
2 SAMPRAS made a beautiful game look ugly, and has unforgivably stupid eyebrows-and he even vomits on court-how rude is that?
2 ALEX CORRETJA i was surprised recently to learn that 'Corretja' is a northern Spanish word meaning 'tedious to the point of inducing spontaneous suicide',
well you live and learn!
3 GREG RUSEDSKI his game is to tennis what Bernard Manning is to subtle innuendo-we don't have to be nice to him because he's dead do we? Bernard Manning i mean, not Greg, i know we don't have to be nice to Greg.
5 IVANISAVIC a buffoon with a big serve-all that stupidity was an act.. wasn't it?

I dont know that its always been about his tennis for me...
seriously though, thats fair enough. I always thought he was quite a character to watch but very frustrating too.
Scotsguy - August 21, 2007 01:38 PM (GMT)
1.Stepanek-Hate his little chicken dance and his game is seriously dull...
2.Safin-Just no....
3.David Nalbandian-Bit of a waster and not a very nice person
4.Nieminen-Does he have a point?
5.baghdatis-I just don't think he seems very genuine.
For retred players I'd include Sampras and Pioline.

Russiafan - August 21, 2007 01:53 PM (GMT)
1. Andy Roddick - most boring player to watch EVER. Period. Sticks his arse out when he serves which is so unattractive. Incessently tugging at his cap and pulling his shirt over his shoulders. Needs a slap.
2. Rafael Nadal - dominance on clay + clay court season = snoozefest
3. Lleyton Hewitt - has the personality of a pitbull with rabies. Kim was too good for him.
4. Guilermo Coria - for beating Tim in the French Open SF - let's face it Tim could have taken Guadio and wouldn't it have been great if he had won the French - it would have been so random. And for a set and half it looked like Timmy could have done it too.
5. James Blake - Overrated

Hes' the one I hate most, although hate is perhaps strong but he is dull to watch, foul mouthed, bad tempered and rude to Tim. He's nto rude in a pumped up way that gets him to win and adds charisma liek Mac, he just goes off on oen for no good reason and then loses anyway! roflmao
