Doubles Draw

Bhupathi/Zimonjic are the top seeds and Ram/Erlich are the second seeds.

Murray teams up Jordan Kerr for this one, while in the other half of the draw Butorac teams up with Ashley Fisher. Don't they need any practice together before the U.S. Open?!

Hey, is play rained off cos I can't see any scores at New Haven?

MissSospanFach - August 21, 2007 05:28 PM (GMT)
Yep, still raining! This will be a headache for the organisers- players won't want a to have to play two matches in a day just before the slam!

I know! Well there is still no play as far as I can tell. I hate ti with predictions when you get shceduling problems as it is hard to keep up. If we do crap we can blame the weather though roflmao

First shock of the tournament-

A. Kuznetsov/ R. Sweeting d. J. Erlich/ A. Ram 7-6 6-2

The Israeli duo must be a bit tired after their masters win last week.

MissSospanFach - August 22, 2007 07:34 PM (GMT)
J. Kerr/ J. Murray d S. Lipsky/ D. Martin 6-4 7-5

E. Butorac/ A. Fisher d. P. Starace/ F. Volandri 6-3 6-2

Congrats to Stretch and Booty for winning their matches with their respective partners. According to Butorac (Murray doesn't seem to bother with their website now!) they "were hoping to play together this week, but ended up splitting to help get Fisher and Kerr into the tourney as well. "

Murray should be particularly pleased after beating Lipsky and Martin who he and Butorac had lost to 3 weeks in a row a few weeks back.

:yahoo: Go stretch and Booty!!!!! :yahoo: hopefully this bodes well for the US Open

eeerm - does that mean that butorac and Murray are going to be playing again one another in the semis? I haven't been paying much attention this week

MissSospanFach - August 24, 2007 08:55 AM (GMT)
No, they're in different halves. Murray and Kerr are first on court (3pm here) of all the matches today and face M. Matkowski and M. Fyrstenberg who are seeded 4.

Butorac and Fisher seem to have the tougher match against Bhupathi and Zimonjic. Think they should be on about 9.30pm.

MissSospanFach - August 24, 2007 02:59 PM (GMT)
No luck for Murray and Kerr today. They've been convincingly beaten 6-2 6-3 by the number 4 seeds. The match only lasted 51 minutes!

MissSospanFach - August 24, 2007 09:25 PM (GMT)
In the other semi-final Bhupathi and Zimonjic have just taken a close first set 7-5. The set lasted 43 minutes- nearly as long as the entire other semi-final!

"We were pretty flat. That was frustrating, because we never really gave ourselves a shot to challenge."

Murray was bidding for his first final since he teamed up with Eric Butorac to win the Nottingham title in June.

so winning wimbledon was just a joke and worthy of a mention on his CV then?
