Nadia has a very complete game actually. A lot of male and female tennis players could learn a lot from her. Just because she doesn't add as much flair into her game as Justine doesn't mean she isn't a wrthy tennis player.

i was in my usual late night state :cheers: but its such a shame as i couldnt help but love the way Justine coped with that match. As soon as i warm towards her, one dickhead of a commentator ruins the moment and im back to square one, he was absolutley woeful

Well she is surprisingly modest given her status as top dog right now. You never hear her saying he ropponents are rubbish and she should have beaten them and making silly excuses. Also she does not belittle her opponents prior to a match when asked what her opinions are. Good for her :ok:

It's true though - JHH's game, compared to Petrova's, is like comparing Diamond to Iron

That comparison should not have even been mentioned as its tennis blasphemy! Nadia does play this robotic bland game but she matches up well to JHH!

She doesn't have an X factor SW19, and is very much a machine in the way she plays. Just like her male compatriot Davydenko I suppose. Henin brings so much variety to the court in comparison.
Petrova has no extra gear to go to! Top players do!

Oh yeah, i'm not talking about the match-up - but JHH's game is so much better to watch, she would have been a multi-slam winner in any era with any sort of racket :)

i still disagree. Your right about the gears, but i think Nadias top gear should have won her a slam by now. I love her power game when its on, and her net play is superior to most drones. Its injury and plain schizophrenia that has ruined her career thus far :( :(

It's not about comparing Henin and Petrova. It's about giving Nadia due credit for being the world class player she is. She may not be part of the tennis elite, but she is a worthy top ten player. ANd has had a multitude of impressive wins in her career.

I don't see what the X-Factor has to do with anyone's worth as a tennis player. Tracy Austin had quite robotic ground strokes, she just looked like she copied Chris Evert basically! Didn't stop her winning two slams, and for a period owning Evert and beating Navratilova in Grand Slams.

I know you're not a big fan of Nadia, but all Im suggesting is that maybe credit where credit's due :) However if you don't think credit's due, and I think it's fair to say you don't :P , then that's your opinion and that's good. But there's no need to go as far as rubbishing her either!

Look SW19, I just see her as what i'd call an "accumulator" - doesn't do too much damage at the serious tournaments but keeps her ranking up by entering so many!

I respect any pro tennis player because they got there, but Nadia's game is pretty dull let's be honest. Liam was right if there was genuine bias going on, but they probably took the view that Henin was eventually going to win the match and appreciated her superior talent, harsh world I know but probably fair.

The wood racket analogy isn't irrelevant, because without the bosh bosh game, Petrova would be in the top 1000! As I said, Nadia would have been in the Russian weightlifting team instead of a tennis player if she was about in the 70's instead roflmao
