Title: Cincinnati general updates

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 12:29 PM (GMT)
The first match on center court has the tiger against the Argentine J.I.Chela.

If there is one surface Tiger will have an advantage, it is the hard courts of Cincy and New York.

Tim badly needs a win today to maintain his ranking.

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 03:12 PM (GMT)
Tim holds comfortably first game..

1-0

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
Tiger is holding well. Anyone seeing this match?

3-2 on serve

Dinky Jo - August 13, 2007 03:35 PM (GMT)
 didn't even know it was on

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 03:49 PM (GMT)
Chela serving for the first set :(

Hi DJ btw..

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 03:51 PM (GMT)
Tim had two BPs in that game but couldnt convert. First set to the argentine..
6-4

Dinky Jo - August 13, 2007 03:58 PM (GMT)
:(

Afternoon chet - still bouncing from Djoko's win are we??? :P

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
Yes kind of..But honestly Djoko was lucky to win yesterday (and even against Nadal).

If Fed had won the first set, he'd have won the match. But anyway good for Djoko..

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 04:09 PM (GMT)
Mischa is playing well against the dominator..
6-4, 3-1

Timmy breaks for 3-1..

Mo aka Mz O'Hara - August 13, 2007 04:17 PM (GMT)
4-2 to Tim and serving....CMOoon Turbo

Mo aka Mz O'Hara - August 13, 2007 04:18 PM (GMT)
:yahoo: 5-2

Wise_Analyst - August 13, 2007 04:34 PM (GMT)
The Tiger won the second set 6-3.

However, he has had a habit of losing tight 3 setters as of late. About time that was reversed, I think.

Karlovic and Melzer also involved in a tight one, the Austrian taking the first set on the tiebreak, and unsurprisingly the second has just entered one too.

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 04:43 PM (GMT)
Youzhny mauled Hrbaty.

Nadal will have a tough match against the Russian..

Wise_Analyst - August 13, 2007 04:45 PM (GMT)
Henman's throwing in loads more serve volleying than usual, and it's coming off well. Chela's also hitting some decent passing shots, making this an entertaining match - very difficult to pick a winner.

I'll have to go with Chela, who's had so much more match practice recently. He leads 3-2 in the decider, on serve.

Karlovic surprisingly lost to Melzer in two tie-breaks.

Dinky Jo - August 13, 2007 04:46 PM (GMT)
:yahoo: I like Youzhny!!!! Although he's another russian who's a bit on the inconsistent side i think.....

I am just following the scoreboard but it seems Timmmy is holding well.

A love game to make it 3-3.

Wise_Analyst - August 13, 2007 04:53 PM (GMT)
Slightly farcical moment there as Henman makes a challenge, but the screen froze before anyone could see if the ball was in. The umpire had to ask the operators if it was in or not... apparently not and the point went to Chela, who went on to hold easily.

4-3 now to Chela, who's not really doing anything spectacular. He's certainly there for the Tiger's taking.

MissSospanFach - August 13, 2007 04:57 PM (GMT)
Come on Tim! Most of my predictions so far are wrong so he might as well go on and win, one more won't matter!

MissSospanFach - August 13, 2007 04:58 PM (GMT)
Ah no, Tim's down a break. That's it folks!

Wise_Analyst - August 13, 2007 04:59 PM (GMT)
Oh dear... absolute calamity for Henman, who inexplicably allowed the Hawkeye bugger-up to get to him. He moaned at the umpire during the changeover and clearly hadn't got over it once play resumed, hitting two double faults and making a poor shot choice to go down break point. He saved it with a good serve, but was unable to save the next one after some good defence from Chela, who will now serve for the match. :(

So typical of how Henman's year has gone so far...

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 05:01 PM (GMT)
What a pity..Its over for Henman...

dl04 - August 13, 2007 06:52 PM (GMT)
It's getting very ominous for Tim now............ i just wonder how he's going to get back on track now :(

Well the only good thing abotu this is that my prediction WAs right! roflmao

Very sad for Tim as I'm a huge fan, but I expected it tbh. He's gonna have to get sorted for next year or things will just get worse. :(

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 07:12 PM (GMT)
Looks like a nice match is going between burger king Nalby and Moya..

Dinky Jo - August 13, 2007 07:21 PM (GMT)
yeah, second set tie-break - come on Moya!!!!

MissSospanFach - August 13, 2007 07:26 PM (GMT)
Well done Moya! 7-6 7-6!

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 07:37 PM (GMT)

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 07:57 PM (GMT)
:( :( :(

Horrendous start ..

3-0 Kiefer..

MissSospanFach - August 13, 2007 08:02 PM (GMT)
Even worse now, 4-0. Marat might as well start thinking about the second set.

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 08:07 PM (GMT)
5-0 Kiefer.

Two successive bagel sets against Safin :yikes:

Dinky Jo - August 13, 2007 08:12 PM (GMT)
thank god, marat has got on the scoreboard :yikes:

man, this is painful to follow......

Dinky Jo - August 13, 2007 08:14 PM (GMT)
Ljubicic lost the first set to Delic 6-1

Dinky Jo - August 13, 2007 08:22 PM (GMT)
ok, marat has somehow managed to claw it back to 5-3

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 08:23 PM (GMT)
Kiefer finally wins it 6-3.

At least Marat's got some momentum now.

Dinky Jo - August 13, 2007 08:25 PM (GMT)
yeah, fair play to safin 'cos it was looking like a bagel there!!!! hopefully he can keep this going in to the next 2 sets!!!!

chetanpv - August 13, 2007 08:35 PM (GMT)
And Kiefer breaks. Looks like this is over :(

Whats wrong with Marat? Cant he just play one tournament properly.

MissSospanFach - August 13, 2007 08:35 PM (GMT)
Doesn't look like it! Break down already!

Dinky Jo - August 13, 2007 08:52 PM (GMT)
