This forum will work as an archive for CC. I haven't quite decided out how it's going to work yet, and exactly what will be archived. However, I envisage that popular threads or forums which are out-of-date can be moved here so they are easier to find. So at the moment we have the old hey upp, poscars and LCA cup - it may grow, it may not....

If you have know of any threads or forums which you would like archiving, please PM me with a link to the thread/forum and a reason for it being archived :ok:

As I don't think that's a very good idea, surely it would be best to keep them "archived" for future reference :shrug:

I'd just archive anything classic if you knwo what I mean, or one off things like comps e.g. X factor. Basically things that people might want to read again or that a lot of effort went into or were very funny. No need to have archives of live scoring methinks for example. Or every predictions comp set of predictions, discussion of a match. Unless it's realyl worth saving, let's keep it current and future focused. :)

Sam, i don't know whether "pulling" all the threads is a good idea. i assume you mean deleting them??? Firstly, i'm under strict orders to not delete stuff as it drops our post count :P secondly, I think that when there's popular threads - such as the POSCARS - people may want to be able to refer back to them again, especially if there's another POSCARS later this year ;)

SB, I think I will try and find all the old competitions (some help may be appreciated from people who have been here a bit longer than me). However, I think I may try and find time to prune all the old tournament threads - i'm not sure everyone wants to be able to find the order of plays from a tournament a year ago. :whistle: I will try and set up grand slam archives though (there doesn't appear to be one for the US Open yet, not sure why :unsure: ) as they might be interesting to refer back to a few years down the line.

just a thought now, how about archiving Mr I's favourite players competition - then we can try and do them on a regular basis and refer back to them to see how things have changed?

This does all mean quite a bit of work for the admin, so please see it as a work in progress :ok: Any suggestions, comments or thoughts on how this should work (or whether it's a good idea) would be great. :)

It's tricky to pick what to keep really isn't it? But as you say we don't want all the orde rof play stuff etc. I suppose we could try and keep the best of as it were. although it is a lot of work for you.

I am going to spend a bit of time this weekend trying to sort out all the archives. Mostly this is going to involve clearing up the tournament archives a bit. However, if you know of any threads anywhere on the board (so in player discussions, off the court, or whatever) that you think should be archived so they are easy to find, then could you please post the link here, or PM me, and I'll have a look.

I will be closing any threads once I put them in the archive, so if there's any chance of resurrecting the thread, then it should stay where it is!!!!
