Title: ??? Wimbledon 2008 ???

HenmanHillForever - July 12, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
After really rather enjoying Wimbledon 2007 and the matches and drama it brought, i'm now rather missing Wimbledon and haven't got a clue what to watch on TV. Luckily, throughout the tournament i taped various parts of many of the matches so i can watch them back, which may sound sad but at least i can watch back the matches of the tournament.

However i'm posting this to get some opinions on next year's tournament (despite it being pretty early).
Who do you think will win the men's tournament?
Who do you think will win the women's tournament.
Who will be the young gun coming through to spark some shocks in both the men's and women's draws respectively?
Who will be the surprise packages?
Will Pete Sampras come back for one last hurrah?
Will Henman Hill remain with that namesake?
Will Henman surprise us all and go further in the tournament than he has the last few years, obviously with his usual dose of 'Heart Attack Tennis' ?
How will Murray fair?

These aren;t all set questions for you guys to answer but just write back with your opinions on what you think will take place at next years tournament.

I personally think that Federer will most likely make it 6 in a row unless Nadal can once again challenge Federer or maybe Andy 'A-Rod' Roddick could go all the way once again, and i also expect a challenge from Djokovic.
On the women's side i don;t really know what to say as every year it seems to be pretty wide open.
I think that Young and Radwanska, the winners of the Junior events this year, could be ones to watch next year, as could be young Michaella Krajickek who quite impressed me this year with some explosive Tennis.
I think that Henman Hill will always be Henman Hill, and next year 'Good Ol' Tim' will most likely provide the british fans with heart attack Tennis and if Murray is fit and well the pressure could be off Henman for him to maybe pursue that dream Wimbledon Title.

This is ricky, as so much depedns on inury and fitness. Also as is often the case, we see some stars at Wimby do well and then vanish off the radar. Grass is the surface on which we have fewer experts as it were. I'd like to think Fed will win again, it will be his chance to get the record rather than equal it. And he'll be better prepared next year, Nadal's takign him to 5 will be an alarm call and every slam will count with Fed chasing Smapras's 14 slams record. In fact if he wins the AO and USO he'll need one to equal it. Don't see Roddick winning unless Fed and the likes are out or injured. Djoko, Baghi are good outisders. I'm hoping though for improvment from Mahut to get a seedign and for Gasquet to keep up the good form and eb seeded top 4 next year, I hope.

Look out for Tipsarevic, and maybe this Tsonga guy assuming he's not a flash in the pan. Youzhny impessed me, Berdych shoudl do better on grass than he has to date. If Murray is fit then I expect him to go far. Tim - I really hope so, but he needs his ranking increased or he'll have a tricky draw most likley. Thsi year was his best for 3 years and he still didn't make it. :( I wondering if Ancic can get things back on track and also if this new youngster Cilic can make an impression.

Who do you think will win the men's tournament? I know this is boring, but it'll be Fed.
Who do you think will win the women's tournament. Henin or the Williamses
Who will be the young gun coming through to spark some shocks in both the men's and women's draws respectively? Maybe Gasquet???
Who will be the surprise packages? It wouldn't be a surprise if I knew.
Will Pete Sampras come back for one last hurrah? Nope
Will Henman Hill remain with that namesake? If it doesn't I will commit murder.
Will Henman surprise us all and go further in the tournament than he has the last few years, obviously with his usual dose of 'Heart Attack Tennis' ? Erm...... nope
How will Murray fair? Half as well as the BBC predicts and certainly no better than Henman in his prime. I think he'll always be living in someone else's shadow. First Fed/Nadal, then Nadal/Djoko, maybe later on Gasquet. I just don't think the guy will ever be a multi-slammer.

Opinion given...

Who do you think will win the men's tournament? Got to say Fed again me thinks. He may have dropped his form a bit this year but still he manages to outclass everyone else by miles. However Nadal does also have a big chance seeing he's improved so much this year.

Who do you think will win the women's tournament. Hmm that's a bit more difficult as I think the woman's game is pretty open so you really never know. I do think Mauresmo might though because although she didn't play her best this year, she will definitely win another Wimbledon at some stage. Sharapova too.

Who will be the young gun coming through to spark some shocks in both the men's and women's draws respectively?
Nicolas Mahut did really well at Queens this year and I think he really may be able to give some more next year at Wimbledon.
Bartoli was amazing this year so I'll say her again next year.

Who will be the surprise packages? Again Mahut and Gasquet. Baghdatis too, I'd favour. Not too sure on the woman's front.

Will Pete Sampras come back for one last hurrah? Would love that but sadly I don't think so.

Will Henman Hill remain with that namesake? Yes I think so otherwise I shall complain bitterly. No way is that Hill meant for Murray.

Will Henman surprise us all and go further in the tournament than he has the last few years, obviously with his usual dose of 'Heart Attack Tennis' ?
Yes I really believe he will. He still has dazzling tennis in his game and I think he's going to shock us all.

How will Murray fair?
Reckon the Quarters or the Semi's for me. Not quite the final yet but who knows??

will Tim be there? hope so

Will Murray injure himself just beforehand again?

Would love to see Baggy get further this year - he brings some fun back into the game :)
