Title: The Lyric game

Scotsguy - July 10, 2007 09:37 AM (GMT)
Okay, this is just an idea, and not even a very original one but I figured as there are a number of music fans on board it would be worth a shot.....

Basically I put down a lyric and someone has to guess what song it's from, then they put down another lyric and so on and so forth....

I'll start easy

"Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball"

SuperBRAT - July 10, 2007 10:31 AM (GMT)
Good idea. We used to play this at college and we stil do this for quizzes :D

Champagne Supernova by Oasis

Here's mine but not sure if folk will get it. I just like the lyric. I'll add another line if nto ....

"The North side of my house faced East, and the East was facing South"

TeamJustine - July 10, 2007 10:51 AM (GMT)
"The North side of my house faced East, and the East was facing South"

...... Its by the Who......cannea recall the name of the song but Im sure its the Who?

Yes it is. :D

The line before that is

"past the church and the steeple, the laundry on the hill
the billboards and the buildings
memories of you still
keep calling and calling
but forget it all I know I will"

Big Al - July 13, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)

Once upon a time at home
I sat beside the telephone
Waiting for someone to pull me through
When at last it didn't ring I knew it wasn't you

I'm thinking on Petalp's. Here's one of my faves. It's very famous.

Same song: "yellow mother custard dripping from a dead dog's eye ..... "

SB, I think that you'll get my lyrics, eventually.. ;)

But I think that yours is going to bug me, as I think I should know it...

.. and no googling of lyrics allowed..!!

How about this one:

'I'm a professional cynic, but my heart's not in it'

And one dedicated to Wimbledon's woes:

'England my country, the home of the free. Such miserable weather'

Pebs - July 14, 2007 06:00 PM (GMT)
isnt the professional cynic one 'Country House' or something like that by Blur?

Pebs - July 14, 2007 06:02 PM (GMT)
changed my mind - Parklife by Blur?

(I've just been mumbling the song to myself trying to get to the chorus - was hard not to google it!)
