Title: Pete's induction at I'nal tennis hall of fame

chetanpv - July 8, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
I couldn't watch the men's final as I had been to Newport, RI to ckeck out the Hall of Fame tournament.

Unfortunately I almost got a heart attack after seeing how close Rafa came to beating Federer :(

Hope he does it next year.

fyi..Pete's induction will be next saturday..

btw, i know you said you didn't see the wimby final, but if you can get a copy i would watch it. i know you won't like the outcome :P but honestly, Rafa played brilliantly - at times shockingly well - and really tested Federer! I think you'd probably enjoy the match, just for seeing how much Nadal has improved in the last year (and yes, i am already worrying about next year  ) :ok:

Yes almost like how close McEnroe came close to beating Borg in 1980 and then won it in 81.

But anyway next year is next year and you can have some new player on the scene or Andy Murray can cause some upsets. You never know.

Federer will have to fight for his no.1 ranking this year though. Nadal doesn't have any points to defend and Fed had 1 slam, 2 MS , 1 Masters Cup & 2 ATP titles. Lot much pressure.

It's definately worth watching-am watching the highlights again, already!

Truly wonderful tennis from both parties.
