Title: Friday 6th July
Tennisveritas - July 6, 2007 08:23 AM (GMT)
So here my forecast of the day (well more what i want to see..nad hopefully it will be the case)..
* Fed will lose a set to Ferrero but then pass..so, 3-1 for FED
* Gasquet (unfortunately) will be unable to manage a first set loss at the tie break 20-18 and he will be out in three straight sets..shame but it is like that..But let's hope not (Richard you are a great talent..Please the head)..3-o for AROD
* I will definitely prefer Djoko ..Even if Bagda can do it..It will be nice and it is difficult to call..3-2 for Djoko (or the other way round)
* I will definitely prefer Berdy to Rafa: Berdy can serve & volley if he wants and he has a more complete Tennis than Rafa IMO..But this could be not enough to kill the Toro..3-1 for Berdy (or the other way round..it is possible..Rafa is Rafa)... roflmao

Yes, I can see Federer losing a set to Ferrero.
I reckon Gasquet will win first set against Roddick, but lose in 5 sets.
Djokovic v Baghdatis is close to call...Djokovic probably to edge it, but I wouldn't be surprised it Baghdatis prevailed...
Berdych to beat Nadal - Berdych has that winning combination of a game that Nadal hates, and a healthy lack of fear of him. Probably a 4 set victory for Berdych.

Thanks MrI we will see..I really believe it wil be a very interesting day in any case...
:P I took a day off today..Great decision: Let's hoep the London weather stay "calm" :yikes: :yikes:
Tenez - July 6, 2007 08:55 AM (GMT)
As much as I prefer Berdych to Rafa, I don't think the former has a more complete game than the latter. What Berdych has is simply a more offensive approach to the game because he may have a better touch or timing than Rafa. Let's face it, Rafa can do almost anything .in tennis ....except hitting a ball flat!
Tenez - July 6, 2007 08:58 AM (GMT)
I feel the wind is going to be a big factor today. It is ridiculously gusty today......and that does not bode well for the hard hitter (Berdych).

Please T, don't tell me my prediction about Rafa will come true (again :( )
I made that prediction with all the distaste in the world..
fedrules - July 6, 2007 09:49 AM (GMT)
Fed will come through in 4 sets.
Roddick will overpower Gasquet :(
Djokovic in 5
Nadal in 5.
Wise_Analyst - July 6, 2007 10:39 AM (GMT)
Nadal went a break up on Berdych, but was broken back immediately. This is difficult to call... I can't help feeling Rafa will run out steam at some point, but he also seems like a man on a mission to defy the odds and win the tournament.
Baghdatis a break down to Djokovic at 2-4, although he's had chances to break back. If the Nadal match is tough to call, this is almost impossible.

I think I called them wrongly. 3-1 to Berdych and 3-2 to Baghi. I give up
Baghi looks a bit down at the moment. Come on Marcos. :D I was thinking Djoko was perhaps the outsider after over 4 hours wiht the tough Mr Hewiit. Also Nadal had that 5 setter yesterday, whereas Berdych had no trouble.

Hope not, I'm backing Richard anyway. I'm hoping this is his big breakthrough moment
Wise_Analyst - July 6, 2007 10:47 AM (GMT)
Richard Gasquet is the best grass courter of the current generation, and I expect him to come of age here. He's got the 'no quarter final' monkey off his back and there isn't much pressure on him to beat Roddick, because the American will be favourite. I expect today's match to go a similar way to Federer's first ever match with Roddick.
Whatever happens, I expect the first set to be key. If Gasquet wins it, he'll grow in confidence and ease to victory with some nice play. If he loses it, he will choke like a claustrophobic in a coffin.
Dinky Jo - July 6, 2007 10:48 AM (GMT)
:yahoo: Baggy broke back  come on baggy!!!!!!!
SuperBRAT - July 6, 2007 10:50 AM (GMT)

Wise_Analyst - July 6, 2007 11:12 AM (GMT)
Nadal and Djoko both won their first set tie-breaks.
Dinky Jo - July 6, 2007 11:13 AM (GMT)
Baggy has lost the first set tie-break to djoko :(

He better win the first set then. I don't fancy seeing the choke! :yikes:

Yeah looks like we are in for those matches where someone gets mugged in a tie break to decide the outcome. And it will be my favoured players getting mugged again! roflmao
Big Al - July 6, 2007 11:58 AM (GMT)
Well, so much for Berdych feeling so confident before the match. The wind is so bad though he can hardly hit the ball .

Hi SuperBRAT..Second set..Just in control by Rafa..Berdy is just unable to do something near the net..It is just crazy...Rafa at 7/7 on net appraches.. :yikes: :yikes: ..and Berdy 0/1..He tried one AHHHHH :angry3: ...Said that: well done Rafa: You really deserve at the moment to win this match :)

I agree with you Al the wind is very hard..But this is true for both of them..Not really a big excuse..I remain with my judgement: Why Berdy is trying to win from the baseline???
Move forward and short at the maximum each point given the the wind is so strong?? I do not know..OK easy to say difficult to do... roflmao
SaraLess - July 6, 2007 12:08 PM (GMT)
Nadal seems to be in dalek mode - just exterminating all that come before him. I hope that ends if he faces Federer ;)
And hoping that Novak will spring forward. Not a massive fan of Baggy, to be honest, and whereas neither he or Djoko play my favourite style of tennis, the Serbian connection wins through for me everytime!! Come on Novak!
I am a bit frustrated that these games were put on before Roger, to be honest, it may be sunny now - but that has changed in a nanosecond before, and will do again.

I agree, no excuse about the wind but obviously affected Berdy more as he isnt a great mover .
But its like he gave up after losing the first set .Plan A didnt work no plan B .But well played Nadal, he can play all the shots on grass now. One serve was 140 mph .Roger must be worried
Flame - July 6, 2007 12:24 PM (GMT)
6 set points saved by novak!
Flame - July 6, 2007 12:26 PM (GMT)
and he's won it. the king of the tiebreaks prevails again.
Dinky Jo - July 6, 2007 12:27 PM (GMT)
baggy  brilliant tie-break tho - i think this match looks more interesting than the Nadal one did :P
Flame - July 6, 2007 12:28 PM (GMT)
this must be the worst moment in baggy's career right now. how bad must he feel?
liam_valid - July 6, 2007 01:04 PM (GMT)
Baggy is on fire now, hes cut his UEs right down and broke the Djoko serve twice on the trot
Flame - July 6, 2007 01:04 PM (GMT)
what a comeback by baggy!! 4 games in a row.
liam_valid - July 6, 2007 01:09 PM (GMT)
you watching this Flame? its a cracking match, Baggy is playing some unbelievable shots now
Flame - July 6, 2007 01:11 PM (GMT)
yeah it's great, baggy can sense blood. novak is moving strangely suggesting a hamstring treak. but baggy still has to serve out the set.
come on baggy!
Flame - July 6, 2007 01:13 PM (GMT)
i think the boys in commentary are right, novak seems to have hit the wall.
liam_valid - July 6, 2007 01:15 PM (GMT)
wow what a drop shot
liam_valid - July 6, 2007 01:16 PM (GMT)
hes bounced back off that wall with style :P
vivahate - July 6, 2007 01:16 PM (GMT)
wow, did you see djokovic's slide to that drop shot?? this ain't the clay
Flame - July 6, 2007 01:18 PM (GMT)
another twist. 5-5, what a set!
Flame - July 6, 2007 01:19 PM (GMT)
what can you say about djokovic? an amazing competitor.
Dinky Jo - July 6, 2007 01:19 PM (GMT)
double fault to lose the break point  this is such a brilliant match :D
*remembers she's supposed to be working  *
come on baggy!!!!!!!!!!!!
