Title: Wimbledon Predictions Contest RESULTS
Description: Day 6 Sat 30th June

SuperBRAT - July 3, 2007 02:14 PM (GMT)
There are none! roflmao

Just in case folks wonder what is happening, obviously rain delays have caused havoc with this so as soon as Saturday's batch are complete I will put up scores. Ditto for Mondays. I'm doing it for each set predicted rather than actual play on a day as it makes my scoring job easier. :)

They'll be on this thread later, hopefully!

Cheers

No worries :) I just wish I COULD get on with it! I can see me doing it come middle of next week at this rate

MrInvisible - July 3, 2007 03:28 PM (GMT)
As someone who got off to a lousy start, I am hoping to use the rain-break to my advantage...hehe!

If I continue to trail in at the bottom of league table, I may even use a well-timed toilet break...

liam_valid - July 3, 2007 04:12 PM (GMT)
Im not used to these rain breaks. I agree with Safin about playing on grass. Im quite confident my chances are going to decrease :(

Scores for Saturday:

With such a bizarre run of 3-0s in the mens, and 2-0s in the womens despite some fancied 3 setters, there can only be one winner - yes, it's Serena and his system! roflmao Well done Serena

Serena - 37

These posters have not predicted every day:

14 Trisco 168

15 Al 133

16 Felix 87

17 MN 39

18 TV 27 (men only)

No1 seed Fah clings on at the top, but some sublime volleys from Wise bring him closer to the top. Serena's back in 3rd place, predictable groundstrokes or not, pushing SB down to 4th after her Mauresmoesque performance - god I hate that 3-0 system! roflmao The King of Clay took inspiration from Juan Carlos Ferrero to hang tough at 5th, Viva just one point behind though and looking dangerous for a tie break! Mover and shaker of the day though was Jo, moving up to 7th place after a few Safinesque tantrums got her motivated. :D  Not much change elsehwere but our veteran Scolios moves up a place, showing she's not done yet! And disaster of the day is George who leaves the court in disgust, blaming the surface, the balls, the crowd, the weather and having smashed his 18th racquet of the tournie. :D

It's still all to play for and the middle of the table is close. Can Jo carry on her remarkable return to form? Is she the new dark horse or on her way to the knakcers' yard? :D All will be revealed soon .... hopefully, if it ever stops raining

I noticed that. Wish I'd seen it before to remind you. I'd give you the 2-0 system on it but not sure if people would say it was fair. I assume you were going for Sharapova though. :)

vivahate - July 4, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
it was my mistake...i'd ask to take a bathroom break on that one, but that would be cheating :P :P :P

let's keep it fair...my mistake

Ok then, I hope you don't end up losing by one point or something. :)

I think you missed a zero off the end of my score SB. I would appreciate the situation rectifying. Thank you in advance.

:P

Glad to see Im not quite last yet, but what happens if you miss a day ? Null points?

You'll have to ask Liam. If you'd taken the 3-0 2-0 system every day you'd be in 3rd place like Serena :D

Well, shouldnt those who miss a day get the Serena system on those days? Unless they're on an extended bathroom break of course :P

In theory that's not a bad idea. At no one misses a day. Trouble is now that we are this far down the line we'd technically have to add 2-0 3-0 scores for voided matches as well because we've already said no to that. It might annoy people who have been predicting every day to be overtaken by the 3-0 system, as most of us already have been! I It is in 3rd place after all! :)

it does state in the rules that anyone can have the 2-0 if they ask BEFORE the matches are being played

Yeah, what is happening now though is requests for it retrospectively. I assumed we only gave it if it was requested.
