Title: upset of day 4

Flame - June 28, 2007 10:10 AM (GMT)
today's pick:

wayne arthurs to beat tommy robredo.

i was hugely impressed by wayne's 2-set-and-a-break-down-fightback the other day. he's fighting for career survival and that makes him even more dangerous. and with the monster serve he'll be tough to break. interestingly he has a 2-0 record against tommy as well.

i also think tamira paszek is worth watching. boy is she worth watching! chilean/tanzanian exotic good looks and the most riproaring tennis as well. tati displayed a lot of ring rust in her opener and is in big trouble today against the best young prospect in women's tennis imo.

Safin - bless him - is always good for losing to some complete nobody! Especially when he's likely to meet a big name in the next round.......

Flame - June 28, 2007 10:21 AM (GMT)
that's a great pick, Dinky.

I love safin  and i'd dearly love him to win and meet Federer in the next round - but Safin himself admits that his confidence is at an all-time low, and it's always possible that with the promise of a match against Fed in the next round, that Safin will crumble mentally...... :(

i really hope i'm wrong on this one tho

i hope so too. i really like marat.

Unless Safin manages to have a mental collapse in the next set, I seem to have got my prediction wrong - thank god!!!! :)

Flame - June 28, 2007 11:44 AM (GMT)
and she win it. i should have bet on it really.

I agree. I've gone for borh in the predictions contest. Wayne has an excellent record against Canas on grass, I guess it will depend on how much energy Wayne has left as he's had tough matches in qualies and against de Bakker. We also know Canas has had somethign of a resurgence but I think Arthurs will give it his heart and soul, after all it could be his last match. Go Wayne :yahoo:

On Paszek, I hear she is good and I've goen for her to win as Golovin is a player that I have little confidence in. I cant; stick her style of play either and her silly outfits! roflmao

I had thought earlier that Likhovtseva might upset Hantuchova, or that it would at least be a close one. It was only 2 sets but they were very close. I wonder if Schnyder will lose today.

patty won already.

Sorry I'm confused cos i had two upsets and I' mixed them up! roflmao

I was talking about Canas v Mirnyi - I think Max will win this.

Arthurs will definitely beat Robredo.

Mayer may beat Nieminen but that is a close call.

Jo, you will be very pleased to learn that this was not the case then! :D

Your man looks like he's facign Fed in the next round. I will look forward to that enoucnter, I hope it is a good one.

Must say I had concersn that Safin might make a meal of his match today and went for 3-1 but he came through in straights, although there was a tie break involved.

Flame - June 28, 2007 01:59 PM (GMT)
wayne arthurs will not die!

yeah, I thought he was gonna fall apart in that third set for a little while, but he held it together remarkably well. Onwards and upwards!!!! :D
