Title: Wednesday 27th June

Brilliant match with Gonzo, he really deserved the win! He does seem to make things difficult for himself though.
Such good matches on at the moment, struggling to keep up with them all! :ok:

Good performance from the Colombian at Wimbledon - he trounced Querrey in the first round, and that's a creditable scoreline against Gonzo. Falla also beat Davydenko here last year, although that's not really much about to shout about.

I hear the noise of people clambering off the Mahut bandwagon by the way, he's currently being annihilated by an on-fire Gasquet, two sets and a break down. I'm certainly not surprised, or disappointed. It's high time that the best grass court player of this generation realised his potential.

Gasquet played an amazing match, he is definitely one to watch this year :ok: Time for Mahut to get a well earned rest :)

Whilst I like Gasquet - I am surprised that he was all over Mahut - but well done to him - and Mahut - I dont think I will climb off his bandwagon just yet :)

Roddick has been winning ugly, à la Queen's, but winning is the thing I suppose. Anything less than the semis is underperforming, Murray posing the only real threat to the twice-finalist in his section. I'm sure he was relieved to see his nemesis out of the picture.

Mahut was hard done by the draw, but well done to Gasquet on such a convincing victory; he'd been looking very poor with his questionable Halle and Nottingham exits. Of course his Halle conqueror Qureshi is through to the second round here and may yet upset Safin at his worst Slam so it seems a less bizarre upset with hindsight. The Frenchman too should be clear to the quarters to meet Roddick (that may guarantee an interesting semi for Federer but really the No 1 would have to hobble onto Centre Court on crutches for either man to stand a chance). The only seed in his section is Chela, out of his element on the surface and lucky to still be in it with a 10-8 in the fifth squeaking win over Becker. Gasquet v Henman in the round of 16 would be brilliant.

Tipsarevic is into the third round for the second Slam running, which will send him inching up closer to the Top 40 to keep countryman Djokovic some company. Well done to him. Gonzalez has been struggling in his first two matches so I wouldn't count the Serb out entirely against him.

Gasquet just had a great match, he really impressed me today. Mahut was looking a little jaded I have to say - understandable though.
