Interesting grouping of players.. I see, Sharpie the shrieking harpie and the Williams get their own threads, but 3 multi-slam winners all get grouped together?!!
Anyway, they're 3 of my 6 favourite players B)
Thought Amelie looked impressive today, ! just watched her match against Jamea Jackson. Jamea beat Sharapova on grass last year, so no pushover, but Amelie bossed the match and looked in fine nick :ok:
T01 - June 27, 2007 09:34 AM (GMT)
Yea, Hope that Amelie can reach the finals.
Also looking good was our Nadia: Perfect match yesterday.

Well seeing as the Momo, Justine and Hingis fans had cluttered my Williams thread with pictures of their favourites, I split the posts and gave them their own thread that none of their own fans had bothered to start for them.

Well Serena19 just because you are a fan, you don't need to sing the hymns all the time.. kidding..
Well, hoping for a Serena vs Amelie final myself....

Im not sure I see your point, as I am also singing the hymns on behalf of the other fans by putting this thread together.
Yes I agree with you on that final :D Their 2004 semi was a great match as was their 2002 semi B)

Tosh - I was only cluttering because it seemed fashionable at the time and I thought that with the two camps going at it we needed a third movement. B)
Eastbourne did however bring out the dormant Mauresmo fan in me - gutting to see her lose it from a winning position but brilliant to see Henin finally pushed to the limit.
Interesting to see T01 mentioning the possibility of a Serena v Amelie final. They had a fiercely competitive semi in 2004 so it could be good tennis (the first set of their USO match was exciting also). Hard to predict, also. Not a bad storyline with the two-time champion hoping to stop the defending champion from joining her as a twice-winner. There are really so many different scenarios that could unfold yet, though.
SerenaW19 - June 27, 2007 06:24 PM (GMT)
 Yes Eastbourne reminded me why I like Momo as well. You can forget she was world number one for most of last year at times.

How very dare they!! Lazy bunch, those HJ, Momo and hingis fans :P
Well, hurrah for :admin: ;)
Oh, and am also hoping for Amelie to reach the final. Whoever gets through on the other half of the draw, well, who only knows will prevail there?
TeamJustine - June 27, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)
Wooo Allez Justine! Nice interview with good ole scot Haze post match :D
Justine's first set was sparkling and played just as if she was a natural supreme grass courter.
In the second she maintained that but I think she just wanted out of there too quick and so rushed a few of the bread and butters........still comfortable though
BIG-TODGER - June 27, 2007 10:00 PM (GMT)
These three players are by any calculation the most creative all court players around-and a welcome change to the grunting ball wallopers, who are ubiquitous now within the game.
What characterises them all is STYLE, they all have it in abundance.
Sadly Hingis doesn't have the wallop to win, which is a shame, but a final between Mauresmo and Henin would be great-both unafraid to go the net, both relentless in their grace and talent.

She is injured :( She did well to get as far as she did. She'll have a rest and hopefully will be back to her magic on court. B)
vivahate - July 2, 2007 01:22 PM (GMT)
yes, she should never have played. but it's all about moving on, getting healthy, and playing again. i need my girl ready for the hardcourts :)
BIG-TODGER - July 2, 2007 03:14 PM (GMT)
It's worth mentioning that Mauresmo played like a goddess against Santangelo, i've rarely ever seen a woman play such graceful watchable tannis. Her game looked perfectly suited to grass, she volley's superbly and she just has the look Athena i think, hope she gets to the final.

(Or Sunday, or Monday. )
BIG-TODGER - July 4, 2007 06:53 PM (GMT)
Well done Justine, fantastic win-glad she held her nerve in the final set.
I've noticed quite a few friends starting to like Henin more and more, she's winning more and more fans daily!
