Title: Quote of the Day
SerenaW19 - June 26, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
I assume the BBC will start doing this sooner or later.
I just wanted to smash my racquet. But seeing as it's gold I can't. Which is great for me.
Serena Williams
You've been drawn in the same quarter as Justine again. Doed that concern you at all? No, not at all. Im excited to hear that. No, that's great.
Serena Williams
In advance of the tournament the only thing I look at is to see if she (Venus) is in the same half as me. I never look at the draw, ever.
Serena Williams - she obviuosly doesn't do much research into who she's going to play then

my usual marat quote for the day:
Q. Do you think people worry too much about Federer, get too nervous when they play him, give him too much respect?
MARAT SAFIN: I don't really think about Federer. Any other players don't really, really care, and why should I care about them?

A nice quote from Moya for all you Henman fans:

| But still I played one of the few really specialists that is still left on grass. So maybe he's not the Tim Henman he used to be, but still he's a great player. He knows how to play here. |

thats really nice of Moya. I said in another thread that they looked like they had a good deal of respect for each other, and it was just a pleasure to watch them both.

bit of a quote which i hope will cheer up all you henman fans a bit:
Q. How would you assess your relationship with your fans?
TIM HENMAN: My fans? I would assess it as being fantastic. I mean, I can't speak highly enough of them and the way that they support me, you know, the way they've always been.

Confusion reins. A rumour emerged the other day that Andy Murray had a new fan in Serb star Jelena Jankovic. Now it emerges that Jelena actually has the hots for brother Jamie - although she claims it's Murray who is keen on her. And guess what? They're playing mixed doubles later today - and that's not a euphemism.

"Here's my main man Rafa, who announces his arrival by kicking Feliciano Lopez in the, er, rear. That one's for Tim."

"In Paris, the public tends to warm to me a lot more and it’s like being at home. I like it here and in Australia as well. The US is the toughest. People seem to turn up to do anything except watch the actual tennis.”

Having been to tennis matches in the US (since I live here), she's not wrong.
My uncle, at last year's Hall of Fame Tourney in Newport, started heckling other fans from his box because they weren't watching the match and kept distracting him from it.
